Thinking about... Grieving the undead.
You aren't dead, but you're moving 12 hours away.
You aren't dead, but you're leaving our friend group.
You aren't dead but you've moved to a different state and now we text twice a year.
You aren't dead but you blocked me.
You aren't dead but we stopped talking, not on purpose but so long ago that I wouldn't even know what to say to you now.
You aren't dead but you're a stranger to me now.
You aren't dead but we lost touch and now I don't even remember your username.
You aren't dead but I ended things with you and now we never speak.
You aren't dead but I still have to grieve you. Whether I'd change it if I could or not, you're still a presence that I'm used to and now you won't be there anymore.
And so I grieve.

Published in coloration with Transfighters/Traction Project, A Self-Defense Study Guide for Trans Women and Gender Non-Conforming / Nonbinar
The threead continues:
All people have a tendency to be unconsciously biased toward seeing trans women as untrustworthy, unsafe, lacking vulnerability, the problem to be solved rather than a person to be taken care of. And this is not less true in trans and queer and feminist communities. It’s just more unconscious, and more propped up with social justice, feminism, queer lib, leftist, and anti-oppression beliefs. This book is talking about this in context to a physical public situation of harassment, but this is true of social conflicts too, including on social media, in friend groups, in all kinds of situations. The unconscious bias also gets taken advantage of by people who know what they’re doing and hide behind that bias to make their mistreatment of transfems seem reasonable—again, often supported with social justice and anti-oppression rhetoric. TERFs aren’t the only people who do this! It felt so incredible to see this spelled out in print, plain as day, an actual book calling out a real thing I’ve experience more times than I can count, that all transfems I know go through, and that I still feel crazy for seeing because there’s so much gaslighting about it. You know how when you KNOW something is real, but you feel defensive about that knowledge, like you have to be ready to hold onto it, and then you see something confirming that knowledge for you in no uncertain terms and it feels like “wow maybe I wasn’t crazy all this time!” That’s how I felt seeing this.
The book linked is free to read and download. See the link above.
if you’re a transfem you should read this, and if you’re not you should reblog it for your transfem friends & followers, the advice in here is extremely good and the grips breaks are not hard to practice!!
I decided to take a risk last night and show my mom a religious meme and all she did in response was sigh deeply and say “I can’t send that to my church group chat”
The meme in question
retail micromanagement destroys peoples brains istg i can always tell when someone came from retail bcs they legit have learned helplessness wrt managing their own time at work. i mean i was the same way when i left retail its brutal but its fixable.
retail escapees emerge so brokennnn bcs how could u not its legiterally traumatic. like u take grown adult human beings and make them stand in a spot and say a fucking script at people, and dont let them start or end tasks without being directly told to, and they cant piss or eat or drink without asking or being told and they're berated for things completely beyond their control and punished for any tiny deviation from the deranged micromanagement and put in an outfit that's humiliating only because it marks them as someone going through this torture... and for this they're compensated with starvation wages and the entire time they're forced to perform a level of happiness and cordiality that would be insaneeeee in the face of all thats being done to them. how could anyone remain normal. hiring someone from a retail job is like taking in a shelter dog from an abusive home im so glad someone did that for me but jesus christ.

One Year Since the Gaza Genocide: A Reminder of Pain and Resilience❤️🩹❤️🩹
It has been a full year since the genocide in Gaza, and its effects are still visible in every corner of this wounded place. Those were days of bombing and destruction, but they were also days of constant pain that still accompanies us to this day. We lost thousands of innocent lives, homes were destroyed, and dreams disappeared under the rubble. Over the course of this year, pain has become no longer just a memory, but has become a part of our daily lives. Gaza is still suffering from the siege and destruction caused by the war. Every day here is a struggle to survive, rebuild what was destroyed, and preserve our dignity and identity despite all attempts to erase it. But amidst this darkness there is a glimmer of hope. The people of Gaza are steadfast and clinging to life despite all the challenges. Resistance is not only through weapons, but through steadfastness and insistence on staying despite the circumstances that push us toward surrender. My family has been part of this suffering. We were displaced five times during the war, and now we live in a tent after our house was completely destroyed. Every day we face new challenges, but we stand together, bear each other, and believe that one day this darkness will fade, and life in Gaza will return to what it was before, and even better.
We are urgently asking for help because we cannot do this alone. We need to rebuild not only our home, but our lives as well. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly to providing our children with a safe place to sleep, food to eat, and a chance to dream again. Please, if you can find it in your heart to help us during this desperate time, we will be forever grateful to you. May your kindness and generosity be the light that guides us through this darkness🙏🙏🙏🙏

there will be a moment when you realize you are more grown up than your parents are. this is the loss of childhood, my love. it is when you’re standing in the kitchen and one of your parents is screaming about something and you recognize: you will let them win the fight not because you are wrong, but simply because you know that they will keep shouting unless you drop the subject. you expect them to have childish understandings of things. they will hold onto their concept of the world as if it was not a changing thing. they must be right, and they must be somehow more right than you, always, in everything. their idea of control is so necessary to who they are that you just let it go.
this is the moment. you are 11 or 17 or 21. and you realize that you’re more mature than they ever were.
and in some odd, sad way, this frees you. where they have stagnated, you continue.

I took these pictures mainly to analyze my hand structure. Feel free to use them for your art, if you'd like to!
tumblr just deleted a huge swathe of palestinians who were on here trying to fundraise. if you've been helping any of these fundraisers please take this time to 1) check in with palestinians you're in contact with 2) help them submit support requests if needed 3) keep these campaigns circulating while the beneficiaries are being silenced. these campaigns are life or death, this isn't just social networking. do not let these fundraisers languish.

I am Falestine, Jad Al-Haq, I am 36 years old, married, and I have a three-month-old child named Youssef. I gave birth to him during the war during very harsh conditions that no human being can bear. I moved from the hospital immediately after giving birth to the tent in which we were staying after we were displaced to it after the Israeli bulldozers completely bulldozed my house. Kamel has become featureless, and my suffering did not start from here. Rather, it began since the beginning of the war, and I am still suffering. I cannot provide enough milk for my baby or diapers. Even medicines and vitamins are not available.
I ask you for your urgent help in disseminating the link to my family and communicating it to people interested and able to help us. I didn't want to do it, but the tragic situation we are living in is what pushed me to do it. I feel sad and helpless, after we had everything, we are now homeless on the streets, living in a tent next to a dilapidated public toilet and there is sewage, dirt and waste everywhere, we sleep on it! We suffer from terrible heat, insects, scorpions, the danger of death, bombs and missiles, in addition to hunger of course, the danger of pollution and terrible diseases, especially the digestive, respiratory and reproductive systems!
. My father and mother could not bear it any longer. My father had a stroke after losing his home and his place of work, and my mother suffers from chronic diseases and needs treatment.
Do you have the right to imagine that when you spend your life building for yourself and your children to live a decent life, all of this disappears in the blink of an eye, and now when you reach the age where you should rest, you are forced to start again!!? But the most important thing now is to try to survive and protect your children from all the factors of death that surround us! I ask everyone who has humanity or conscience to feel our situation and put themselves in our place. How can someone who has lived with dignity all his life accept this? We are slowly dying every day.
Your donation, no matter how small, can have a big impact. It can provide a meal for my little one, a clean bottle of water, or a moment of safety under these difficult circumstances. Every donation brings with it a ray of hope, alleviating our suffering and giving us the strength to face a new day.
I ask you to donate and support the steadfastness of the Gazan people, and share this campaign with your friends and families. Together, we can make a difference and help my family get through this ordeal.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity and support.
Warm greetings,
Falestine

Emergency: Help my family survive and start a new life
Hello everyone, thank you for taking a moment to read our story.
I am Hazem Shawish, and I am trying to save my family from this war.
We live in Gaza, where we face significant challenges due to the current situation.
My family consists of 11 members, including my mother, two daughters, four sons, and three children.
Hello everyone, I hope you take a minute to read our story. I’m Ha… Hazem friend needs your support for Help my family survive an
In the shadow of conflict, our family has faced unimaginable hardships. The passing of my father, a victim to the cruel grasp of hunger and inadequate healthcare, left a void in our lives, underscoring the fragility of our existence here. My brother, Samer, battles bipolar disorder, a condition exacerbated by the ongoing war and the severe shortage of essential medications. Without access to the necessary treatment, his life is at risk, and we live in constant fear for his well-being amidst the chaos that surrounds us. These personal tragedies have deepened the urgency of our situation.
Every day is a struggle for survival, and each night is filled with prayers for a brighter tomorrow. Yet, amidst the darkness, we hold onto hope, seeking solace in the belief that one day, the clouds of war will dissipate, and we will find the peace and stability we so desperately crave. Until then, we endure, clinging to the threads of our resilience, and nurturing dreams of a safer, healthier future for us all.
Our home, once a sanctuary of love and warmth, was destroyed, displacing us into a life of uncertainty and fear. The laughter of my children and my sister's daughters, once the music of our home, is now silenced by the echoes of conflict. They deserve a future where education and happiness are not just dreams but realities.
Our entire neighborhood In Gaza Before and after
we had a supermarket that helped as to live and earn money, but it was bombed and we have nothing now, pic of our supermarket
But our challenges are not just physical; they are emotional and psychological. The loss of my father and the imminent threat to my brother's life weigh heavily on us. My mother, who has endured so much, faces the unimaginable fear of losing another child. For her, for my brother, for my children, and for the future of our family, we seek a new beginning.
We dream of a place far from the sounds of war we want to be safe with my family we dream to move to Egypt to save ourselves
This journey is more than a physical relocation; it is a quest for dignity, for normalcy, for the very essence of what makes life worth living. We seek to restore what conflict has stripped from us: our home, our health, and our hope.
We turn to you, not just as donors, but as fellow humans who understand the power of compassion and community. Your support, in any form, is a beacon of hope in our darkest times. It represents solidarity and a shared belief in the sanctity of life and the right to a safe and peaceful existence.
Our dream is simple yet seems a world away: to escape to Egypt.
for children to pursue education and a life unshaded by conflict, and for us to honor my father's memory in a land of peace.
However, this dream bears a significant cost, one that is beyond our reach. For each of us to make this journey, to cross borders towards a life of safety and dignity, we estimate the need for at least $5,000 per person. This sum covers the complex tapestry of legal, travel, and initial resettlement expenses.
Thank you for hearing our story, for your empathy, and for considering standing with us as we embark on this journey to a new life. 🇵🇸🍉❤️🩹🙏
With heartfelt gratitude, Hazem
