Ya know, I thought that being an English Major would mean that I wouldn’t have to take any written finals, only final papers, but no, of the four classes I am taking this semester, the only non-english one is the one which is just a final paper. Everything else is an exam and some ALSO have final papers. 

I took three English classes this semester: one had just a final paper, two had a final paper AND a final take-home essay-based exam. The Lit class I took over the summer had an in-class essay-based no-notes exam. It's kind of a grab bag depending on the professor :')
