Raw chaos against perfect order.

Reality itself seemed uncertain which one should prevail.

The impact hurled him backwards.

“Severus!”

He struck the stone wall with enough force to knock the breath from his lungs. His wand arm trembled violently as he forced himself upright, jaw clenched so tightly I thought it might shatter.

Blood ran freely from his forehead and nose now, disappearing over his lips.

NO! NOT LIKE THIS!

Still...

“SEVERUS!”

My vision blurred for a moment. My blood was boiling. No. It was too much.

We couldn’t –

But before me, Severus rose and raised the wand again.

“NO!”

Before he could answer, I reached into the storm.

Crimson answered immediately, it rushed toward me like an old friend finally set free and relief flooded me.

Oh, come on, bastard! You’re mine to tame and I’m here!

For a single heartbeat.

Then the obsidian currents struck.

"It's not yours," "Nor yours," "It's ours!"

Ok wait but I actually love the idea that lily's patronus was an owl not a doe

And it ties nicely into my pet theory that Dumbledore just straight up lied to Snape about them both having a doe patronus so he could use it to imply some shit about Snape's love and duty etc and keep Snape a little more under his thumb, especially early on in their relationship
