Still cant get over that the first villains in legend of Korra were literally called the equalists💀 not to repeat the obvious but the way american red scare propaganda is still so prevalent in american society that all marvel movies and many kids tv shows will always have villains whose motive is to "make the world equal" is impressive if not depressing

Season 3 is much bolder. You actually have zaheer say that he wants to "tear down oppressive governments" citing the queen of ba sing se who literally kidnapped and conscripted ppl including children against their will and now you have korra on the opposite side of that bc "its crazy" and will cause chaos as if oppression should be a norm to accept in order to keep "balance" my god. And of course the means in which zaheer and his group r using to achieve freedom from oppressive governments will be ridiculous in order to discredit the idea that we should fight against oppressive governments. Imagine if aang was like we cant overthrow the firelord that would create imbalance. This is RIDICULOUS
