Nice is just seeming good, good doesn't need to play a part, just be good because you are.

Someone nice, will say what you want to hear, just to seem good. Someone good will stand against what doesn't is. Even if that makes them seem like a villain at the beginning.

Maddie wasn't aiming at Caitlyn's head, she was aiming at Caitlyn's neck.

Which means that Caitlyn's death wouldn't be that quick, and that it would be agonizing. As she would probably die by choking on her own blood or smt.

"The one who captured Caitlyn's Heart" Ambessa said this to Vi, a girl she hasn't met properly before being captured.

This line has plenty of evidence behind it, but non openly displayed, only someone very close to any of them could know how strong their bond is, and Maddie received a taste of it, even if Caitlyn had moved on.

Everyone shitted on Maddie since we saw her and Cait on bed, but a detail I love about their interactions is how Maddie is basicaly begging for Cait's attention and she is lost on her own thoughts, not budging to Maddie's plees. The only person capable of putting Cait's mind at ease has been Vi. Even when they've been apart for long, once together, it takes little to no effort from Vi to change Caitlyn's mind.

So, I believe Maddie was a spy for Ambessa since the beginning. Maddie saw glimpses of how much Vi and Caitlyn's relationship meant, and once the broke up, saw a way to have some of that, not only by becoming the General's right hand, but by having her entirely, or so she thought.

Even if Caitlyn wanted some action, it came from the same place all of her decisions came from: hurt, grief, pain. Maddie was nothing more than a way to let out some steam, and she noticed, thus, telling Ambessa how even if they did the deed, Caitlyn's mind was somewhere else, yearning, confused.

Of course, all this to say: Maddie, being petty and jealous, snitched on Caitlyn with Ambessa. For the Noxian, it was a way to keep her puppet on check, for the Bitch, was a way to cimment her place (though as void as it was) beside Caitlyn. In the end, once she saw first hand how meaningless their relationship was against the one with Vi, it was the straw which break the camel's back.

If you haven’t watched this movie yet, go see it now. This movie deserves more recognition than what it’s currently getting. I mean, WB actually making a good DC movie? It’s more likely than you think!

I mean it’s not anything groundbreaking or anything like that. It’s just a fun time. It doesn’t need to break any records or change movies forever for it to be good.

Also as much as I wish it didn’t flop, I know that doesn’t lessen its quality. Many movies over the years have flopped in theaters with them getting a comeback after leaving cinemas (Think Encanto, Blade Runner 2049)

Even the toxic masculine patriarchal men have similar stylistic expressions or to be be more precise this is a traditional/historical/ye olde male aesthetic.

Having said that I love what design elements are being used here. So…

Let's take it from the top.

The FACE MASK

The Three Colors surrounding the eyes are typical spider man colours but they are done to evoke the image the traditional makeup done for the ancient dance art Kathakali. In which the whole face is painted and bold lines are drawn to emphasise/exaggerate the eyes. These eye mask lines are usually thin - bold-thin.

Same with the white lines on the cheek bones which are indicative of tusks or pincers of demons or Animorphs in folklore/myths.

The white dot in the centre of the forehead is the most common Hindu motif, expressed in myriad of ways all over the country .

The ARM/LEG BANDS/CUFFS

The bicep cuff is a part of Indian historic armour - made of malleable metal, its bejewelled ornate counterparts were then worn in day to day life. Here in the north Royals still wear it during big ceremonies. These metal bands are generally worn by warriors.

bangles (metal circles worn at wrists) are an important male accessory and are more daily wear even in present modern times, some religions (Sikh,Jain etc.) require the males to always wear one at all times. The ones on the suit were more in the shape of wrist guards which again were an armour accessory. In Indian male clothing the cuffs are usually emphasised.

Due to traditional male footwear being sandals metal ankle cuffs were employed to guard the shins and were worn during wars while thinner bands - ornamental accessories - were worn in daily wear.

There are so many other things I want to elaborate on like: The PATTERNS/LOGO,The LEG GARMENT (??!)(what’s the collective term for clothes for legs?), The Cat’s Cradle swinging/body animation ; but my ADHD is already acting up so imma leave this here.

SIDE NOTE:

I love how the heel and toes are bare in this design. It makes sense from the spider powers perspective - no barrier in contact allows for better manoeuvring and jump control as is seen in gymnastics. But also because in Hindu culture important tasks including some traditional sports require the removal of footwear and getting feet dirty is not discouraged (of course with an adherence to washing of the feet multiple times in a day)

The light glyph was the first glyph that Luz ever learned,

Luz, her name is a word coming from Spanish that literally means light.

She was the one that could save them

(with help, of course. It was a team effort.)

It feels a little out of place how they became aware and how they knew which glyph would break the spell, doesn't it?

Well, what if they aren't the ones speaking? What if the Titan intervened?

He has done it before, that's how Luz learned the glyphs after all and how Belos / Philip felt the isles hid them from him.

So a long while ago, I was talking in a Discord server with a few others about what Hunter's GG uniform might actually be composed of, since apparently a lot of the fandom seems to interpret it as a kind of tunic. With the finale of the show sending us all into tears, I thought I'd take a break from the heartache and explain my theories.

(This might be long, so I'll put pictures in when I can)

So to start with, let's actually begin not with his uniform, but what's underneath it, as seen above.

Now, while some people headcanoned this as a binder (and I'm not one to bash on people's ideas), I think it's actually a kind of brigandine!

(Note the length, the buckles going down the front, and the leather straps going over the shoulders)

This was a kind of armor that knights or soldiers wore, composed of strips of metal fastened between two pieces of heavy cloth or leather to make a vest. It was handy to have because it was fairly durable and lightweight, and offered decent protection without needing all the fancy welding required for full-plate armor.

It was worn on top of a tunic (like he does in the photo), and was usually sleeveless, though it sometimes could come with arm and shoulder protection.

Now, I confess, a brigandine wouldn't normally be worn under armor (too many layers and padding), but that leads us to Hunter's actual uniform!

So while the cloak and pin are common enough that even most civilians in medieval times wore them, this isn't one solid tunic piece -- it's plate mail!

Now, to get the basics out of the way, that little shoulder guard he's wearing is called a pauldron, and was used to keep your opposing, non-dominant side safe when jousting. Knights would normally only wear one, as two would be cumbersome, and holding your lance under one was uncomfortable and impractical.

(It also makes an adequate perch for little bird palismen)

That duller yellow color Hunter wears is the undershirt knights would wear under their armor (for extra padding against chafing and some extra protection). While this historically would be a gamberson (or aketon, depends on who you ask), a thick, quilted fabric shirt, it'd be too bulky for the plate mail he's wearing, amidst other things.

Instead, he might be wearing an arming shirt!

Also referred to as an arming doublet (again, depends on who you ask), these were made later as a thin kind of form-fitting shirt that was more flexible and allowed for ease of motion when wearing armor. Sometimes chain mail was sewn into more vulnerable areas for coverage, like between the legs and the armpits (like you can kinda see in the first pic).

(Also, take notice of the higher sides of the collar, which you can also see under Hunter's cape)

The brighter gold armor he wears is, from what I can tell, not full plate mail, but a kind of cuirass!

These were chest plates that covered both the front and back of a knight without needing all the extras of armor, and could be worn with an arming shirt or chainmail.

They also usually came with hip guards -- those little strips by his pelvis -- and were special attachments called faulds, useful for keeping those areas safe without making things too bulky.

And there you have it! Hope this helps with your art and writing, and thus concluding

I love the "parent sits at the kid's bedside all day" trope, but Leo has a whole bunch of people he has to worry about :т

Also, I know that their size compared to each other is constantly changing. Do I want to monitor this more closely? Nope

The "Step, step, step" in the background as Donny is figuring out how to comfort Casey is funny as hell and also helps you immerse into this world better. You can basically imagine Leo trotting, almost running to the door while telling everyone to fuck off.

The "Taking a Nap Busy, I'm Saving the World Busy" is so Splinter of Leo. Like the "I'm not 'Rest in Peace' hurt, I'm 'Rest on the couch' hurt" in the series. I love when each of them show little Splinter things, a bit of what each of them absorbed from their dad. Specially from Leo who, now as a father figure for this kid, has come to show more aspects of his own father, mixed with little things taken from Raph and himself.

The last panels are perfect examples of it.

Comes into the room worried to the bone, attentive, just wanting to know if Casey is okay. That's why the hug catches him off guard. That's Raph / Splinter to a T, but more like Raph. Not that Splinter didn't worry, because he did, but he wasn't as hands on board about it. Raph is more likely to interrupt anything he's doing to look over his brothers. Like Leo with Casey right here.

I have this little headcannon that when Splinter was younger and still transforming due to the mutagen, he used to be more playful with the boys, he would fight softly with them and pretend defeat. Raph picked up on this and used it when he noticed how much of a size difference there was between him and the others. Leo knows this and kind of flipped the script a bit.

Leo's been playful all his life, as well as dramatic and wearing his feeling on his sleeve, so playing with Casey like this is very on point for him.

They also worked on What If so thats amazing!

In lmk when we first meet macaque. Him and sun wukong are fighting. We hear macaque taunting SWK by saying “the old you would have levelled this whole mountain range just to stop me” and we know that macaque stole swks powers.

(Mind you, the whole story of JTTW was very vaguely written in my head when I started watching Lego Monkey Kid. So when Macaque came and did all he did to MK and Wukong, I didn't consider the original story and it's plot to figure out their past. I know, I'm dumb. But now, I've got the power!!)

For anyone that was as lost as I was, what Macaque tells when he's posing as a storyteller is partially true, though he leaves certain...details out.

Turns out, there are 4 celestial monkeys that don't fit into the 10 basics categories.

- Sun Wukong, the Intelligent Stone Monkey

- The Red Backed Baboon, prospect of balance.

- The Long armed Ape, wise of the universe.

- The Six Eared Macaque, oracle and fortuneteller.

JTTW tells how, after Wukong was kicked out of the group after killing some bandits, he just dissapeared. Some days later, he came back to offer apologies to Tan Sanzang who, obviously, said no, so Wukong beat the Monk and stole all of the group's stuff. When Sha Wujing (Sandy) went to his mountain to confront him, he found out Wukong planned to do the whole journey with a group of clones of the Monk, Sandy and Pigsy. Basically wanting to reach illumination by himself.

Sandy, seeing Wukong was beyond all reason, went to the goddess who was...basically Wukong's legal tutor to ask for her help on changing the Monkey King's mind. Turns out, the Real Wukong was with her the whole time since he was kicked out.

Long story short, after both Wukongs fought endlessly through earth, the celestial realm and the underworld, they ended up in front of Buddha, who unmasked Macaque. Right afterwards, Wukong killed Macaque for stealing his identity and his monkey army.

Why do I explain this? Aside from cutting everyone to speed on JTTW and it's lore.

Well...do you remember all those jokes Macaque makes about his "living streak"? What finally put the last nail on Macaque's hatred (or heartbreak) on Wukong was, basically, that Monkey King killed him after both of them were considered two powerful entities feared on all realms.

"Their light, a protective glow, shining upon the world. Together there was nothing that could stop the two of them. Either in the Celestial Realms, or on Earth..."

With Macaque at the brink of death, he made an Oath to the Lady Bone Demon to be brought back. And we all know how that went...

Knowing all of this makes certain scenes cut deeper than they did at first, doesn't it?

"You've got Lady Bone Demon powers, huh? I mean, it is in brand for you to have the worst version of someone else's powers"

"...You always had a "Sidekick" kinda vibe"

"Mk: You're...not Sun Wukong

Macaque: heh...I get that a lot"

At first I kinda just interpreted it as "Yeah sure, they look similar" and "Looks like they have a heavy history together" but it was always confusing to me how certain thing tied up.

The series gives you hints, but still nothing definitive. Just the idea that they were friends (cofcofloverscofcof) and something involving Macaque taking Wukong's identity and then Macaque dying. But having a bit more of backstory, makes the whole drama more effective.

Mind you, haven't watched Season 4 so if anything's there, I don't know at the time of writing this essay.

So yeah, you're welcome for everyone that was confused.

P.S. A little thing I want to point out, even though it is not ShadowPeach related, is about Dragonfruit.

Mei calls Red Son "Red Boy" as a way to mock him. She's accidentally dead-naming him. Red Boy is Red Son's name from JTTW.

I like to think Red Son made the change so his affiliation with DBK was more obvious and to wield it as a banner of sorts. And Mei comes around just accidentally calling him by his past name, that why he's so mad when he's called Red Boy.

he has a huge interest in wolves, has fun making costumes and hanging with gus. and there’s multiple moments in the episode where he’s finally happy. he’s proud of himself. he’s happy with himself.

i think that if hunter was an adult, while the scene where The Stuff happens would still be devastating, it would hit a little less hard. i feel like the fandom seems to forget sometimes (even me sometimes) that hunter is a child. he’s just 16! you know what regular 16 year olds do? they mess around. they do dumb things! they live their life! but hunter had to endure years of not having a normal childhood due to being treated as royalty.

which makes what he says feel heart wrenching.

of course he also wants belos to not commit witch genocide for the 16,000,000th time, but he wants to just be a kid. he wants to be with willow and gus and play flyer derby like the rest of hexside. he wants to connect with other people his age to make up for lost time.

but belos of course, doesn’t care. he’s the one that’s still controlling him, and while hunter may seem intimidating when belos was possessing him, with the wolf shirt on? it just makes this all the more tragic.

Sounds obvious but let me explain.

The shirt and costume are tokens of freedom for Hunter. Both made by him with a skill developed by himself for himself, sewing was a skill encouraged by Darius, even Hunter says:

"Darius' stitches have never been this neat"

Belos, for Hunter at that moment is a bad dream. For him, the only adult (aside from Camila) to show him any kindness and respect is Darius, so he picks the skill he associates with him and works on it, because it gives him a feeling of warmth and satisfaction, reminds him of that one person who looked out for him not for being the Golden Guard or Belos' Nephew, but for being a lost teenager who had lost his life to a lie.

Darius wanted Hunter to see what life really was like, as his predecesor did. Hunter learnt from that experience, cherishing it.

Now, to each piece individually.

The wolf shirt may seem silly, specially thinking it is an animated version of an old meme. But instead, think about it's meaning:

It is often said that a lonely person is a "Lone Wolf", which Hunter certainly was when we met him. Yeah, he had the Emperor, but he never tried to actually connect with Hunter.

Hunter is dorky, nerdy, curious by nature. If Caleb's pictures are something to go by, is something engraved into his genes. But it is also what Philip killed his brother for, so he molded each grimmwalker into suppresing that part of themselves to fit his expectations.

Basically turning them into kid soldiers.

Lonely wolves always on the look for anything that threatens what they believe, afraid. But when they give in to what they really are, when they finally find a "pack" to call their own, Belos cuts them off. Hunter would have had the same fate, if it wasn't for his new pack, who are many and strong enough to rescue him each time he is in Belos' reach.

Him falling in love with wolves is, natural and very reasonable. Wolves are pack animals who fight together, being stronger together. This little man fell in love with these animals because he can relate to them, sounds familiar, doesn't it?

The Cosmic Frontier costume is the same. Taking into account it is heavily inspired by Star Trek. The crew, even though they are from different origins and species, always stays together. A found family. Not only that but he can relate to a character who maybe has the same story as him, who can, indirectly, help him figure out his situation: Chief Engineer O'Bailey.

A clone from the enemy planet = A grimmwalker of a witch hunter.

Both things, the shirt and costume are his flags not only of freedom, but community. He found a crew, a pack, a family who showed him his not alone, not anymore.

That's why it hits a nerve when Belos posseses Hunter, we know those two "silly things" are the symbols of his new life, a life he's willing to fight for, because he now knows he stands a chance. He's got a bunch of people who would gladly fight alongside him, and thanks to that, he finally has something to call his own.
