actually the only true way to characterise eddie is to base him off whatever the 2010 script was going for when they made him ramble on about algorithms when richie asked which girl he thought was hotter like he was some sort of gay jj bittenbinder trying to throw richie off his rhythm 

i know we're all happy about richie's storyline in chapter two but i'm so bitter about eddie's character not being done justice. i really don't understand why they chose to expand on richie's sexuality when eddie is the character who is more heavily gay coded in the book. his fear of sickness is equated to his fear of his sexuality; it's the same fear. to reduce eddie to simply his hypochondria and instead focus on richie's sexuality is a robbery to eddie's character and character arc. i feel especially robbed about his death scene as that's when he comes to terms with himself ("so lucid" "all the impurities flowing out of him so he could become clear" as well as clinging onto life because "there was something he had to say first [to richie]") and because none of that was done, his character arc fell short and was unfulfilled. he deserved to have a fully explicit storyline and i'm forever going to be angry.
