WHO: Aminata Sarr ( @grxndvoile ) WHERE: Milkshake Bar
Nata could be described as many things. Talented, passionate, and a bit of a hothead. Unlike many on their team, Greer had seen this side of them all the way back to preteen travel soccer days and on the way to winning a high school championship. Their relationship had always been a bit dicey to say the least. Greer could imagine Nata had to work a bit harder with her father being a coach in the league on top of being a woman of color. She hadn't really seen much of them since they took their medical leave. It wasn't Greer's place to poke, but now that she was back in town and traded to Boston, it would be hard to avoid them. Milkshakes should ease the tension, right? "How are you doing? Or are you tired of people asking you that?"
WHO: Russell John Anderson ( @fxdedmoon ) WHERE: Gabe's Home (Ocean Avenue)
"Alright, you're coming up on a year... how you feel?" Gabe was fortunate enough to have been sober for ten minutes, not slipping once, courtesy of pure will and ego. Deep down, he was so determined to be a better version of himself and did not want to capitulate and lose himself to an addiction any further. The temptations were constant, as alcohol was pervasive in his line of work and the environments he meandered through. However, the same could not be said for everyone else around him. He's mentored a handful of people over the last five years through the highs and lows. There were still days when he contemplated, but in the end he let self-control prevail. "How do you want to celebrate?"
WHO: Jason Feldman ( @ilovethismood ) WHERE: Chili's
"Dude, I can't tell you how excited I am to have a freaking Triple Dipper and margarita." She'd been looking forward to it all week when she texted Jase to see if they were around to catch up. If she was going to have to be back here, she may as well enjoy herself with the people who were her friends when life was far simpler. "Kay, what have I missed? Anyone died? Break up? Had a kid? Got married? Went MIA?"
WHO: Xavier De Zilva ( @offkeykisses ) WHERE: House party on the outskirts of town.
"Wait, what? No! That can't be real," she grimaces at hearing this story that took place just last week. Since returning to town, Greer had been busy settling in, training, and checking up on her grandparents. She hadn't really had time to catch up with many people since arriving, but when she heard there was a house party, she figured she'd swing by to see what happened since she last saw everyone. "That's just foul. Utterly diabolical."

With his eldest niece heading off to university in just a few days, Gabe thought it would be nice to send them a curated care package of random items throughout Cidepoint. So far, he had a painting and three vinyl albums, and wanted to fill the remainder with some other fun items. "Excuse me, what would you want to receive in a care package if you were a freshman in college?" he asks, holding up several items that looked somewhat helpful. "Trying to figure out what to send my niece if you don't mind offering an opinion."
WHO: Blue Turner ( @invlsiblestring ) WHERE: The Taproom
"Well, look at you," she smirks, spotting the owner. "Nice little updates since I was here last." As someone who always felt like the underdog, seeing others classified as such winning on their own terms brought a genuine smile to her face. Becoming something people never envisioned was a great âfuck youâ to all the naysayers. She'd heard the rumors of the side affairs that happened behind certain doors in the bar, but could anyone blame him? Clearly, he was sensible enough to run a bar; Greer only wondered if he was too comfortable here. Blue would be dominant elsewhere; had he ever thought of anything beyond the town limits? "Surprise me with a drink, would you?"
WHO: Kyro Lee ( @invlsiblestring ) WHERE: The Fish House
"How's the academy going?" he asks genuinely as he helps himself to more fries off his plate. His work had brought him into the presence of a surplus of celebrities from all different mediums. Athletes, musicians, actors, tech gurus, and more. It was always interesting to Gabe how people ended up where they currently were. Never once did he think avoiding being hit by another man would make good money, but people were feral deep down. There was a reason Roman gladiators were a thing once. Call boxing a bit more contained. "If you need some funds for any projects, let me know. We have some funds still to disperse before the end of the year."
WHO: Juniper Kline ( @k1tschs ) WHERE: Pedestrian Bridge
Returning to Cider Point left Greer with mixed emotions. She left at eighteen with no intention of returning except for holiday visits and birthdays for her grandparents. It was a very bittersweet place to grow up in. Opportunities for more always felt right in reach but never attainable. She finally found her own form of success outside this place, and there was an underlying fear that returning would bring an end to her pacing toward glory. So she jotted as her therapist encouraged her to do so in between their sessions. Looking up, she heard the shutter lens of a camera; she wondered what they were attempting to capture. "Something interesting caught your eye?"
open starter âââ located amongst the back tables of the taproom, amidst the faint buzzing of lightbulbs and chatter all around. (@ciderstarters)
he wasn't usually like this: outgoing, reaching towards the attention of neither strangers nor familiar faces, usually opting for the solace of an independent post-work drink. but, something about tonight, mixed with the allure of liquid courage seemed to spark something different within desmond. not to mention, he'd been privy to a first (maybe second?) date, all abysmally awkward, hurdling towards the inevitable dumpster fire â he just needed to recap with someone, hopefully another who also bore witness to a painful exchange. " did you hear that? " his head, ducked, shielding his lips behind the view of his glass, " something about meeting his family, or whatever. she didn't seem into that at all. yeesh, this is probably their last date. "
"I'll have you know, I've been coming here for the last eight months, every fourth Friday, and he has been here every time I've been with a different woman with the same phrasing." It was diabolical to watch, and the lack of self-awareness the man held for himself, or lack thereof, was abysmal to say the least. Gabriel interceded where needed, but most of the women he'd seen on a date with this particular man were always wise enough to excuse themselves and leave him sitting alone with a half-eaten meal. "I've tried to talk some sense into him, but he's helpless."

location: penny park
as much as the girl likes to be around other people she doesn't always want to talk to them. usually her doberman ducky gives her 'scray dog privileges' but he is a whore and loves attention from everyone when he's not actively training. throughout their afternoon walk brynn had done well deterring him from body checking other park patrons and she had gotten good at that since not everyone loves dogs and even some that do don't like big ones. her winning streak came to its timely end though when ducky caught her off guard while checking her phone and bolted up to the closest person he could, jumping up on his hind legs to put his feet on their arms and giving them a big lick on their chin. the second she noticed she quickly got him off but that didn't stop her from scolding him, " are you serious right now? dude, i will sell you. " brynn spoke looking down at the dog before turning her attention to his victim, " i am so sorry, are you okay? "
"If you're not a fan of the shirt, that's all you had to say! You tell your dog to sic me or something?" he says in jest, looking down at the Doberman before meeting the eyes of the young woman. Gabriel had just dropped some friends off at the airport after hosting them the last forty-eight hours and, of course, getting a game of golf in before their flight. A lovely gag gift after losing out on a poker game the night before was how he was situated in the rubber duck shirt. With the weather still being nice, he was answering some emails on his phone while strolling through the park when he was greeted by the dog unexpectedly. "I'm alright, I'm alright. I promise." He knows this would not necessarily have been the same with other people. Being a dog owner himself, he knew how she felt in this moment. Getting Moose, his Bernese Mountain dog, tamed in his first year was a lifesaver. "Are you okay? What's your friend's name?"

Location: Margot's Paint and Sip class, Bianchi Farms, early evening
Margot smiled as she looked around at her packed class at Bianchi Farms. Tonight was her first night hosting in the new space and she couldn't be more excited. Margot walked up to the closest person to her and looked over their shoulder. "Oh wow that is coming out so good!"
"Don't lie to me now, Margot. I was gonna send it to my niece before she heads off for university. Too cheesy to hang artwork from your uncle in your dorm room?" He's seen some of Margot's artwork and definitely had her on a list of artists from whom he wanted commission work to place in the record store when it was open to the public again. "You happy with the turnout?"

Even though the night was relatively young, Leo had to squeeze one eye shut to rid themself of their double vision and get a proper look at the upturned palm they were clutching onto. Hunched over at an uncomfortable angle, they shook their head with a tsk, a dramatic disapproval at what they were seeing, "Woof. Do you walk around carryin' bricks for fun, or somethin'? Your palms totally rough - I think that means you're stressed or whatever, but my third eye's not fully open yet so, like, gimme a second here. I'm tryna work some magic." They weren't particularly subtle in their scoping, nose wrinkling as they tried to pick up on something to work with. Their aunt was into this kind of holistic crap - she'd taught them everything she knew, and it wasn't much. But Leo was good at thinking on their feet, suddenly pointing at one of the random faded lines on their counterparts hand and running away with whatever came to mind first, "Love line's lookin' a little frail. If you're shit in bed you can tell me, I won't even tell that many people. Unless you just got rejected or something - don't sweat it, happens to the best of us. Like, not me, but someone else who's the best, probably. Or - shit relationship? Good relationship gone boring? Never had a relationship? They're overrated, you're definitely not missin' out. Okay, that'll be five bucks, but I take payments in shots, too. Tequila, preferably."
Greer did not believe in any of this frufru magic bullshit whatsoever. Did she believe in something bigger than herself? Yes. Did she think that auras and horoscopes dictated the outcomes of her life? No. At the end of the day, she made choices consistently throughout the day. Those choices either resulted in something good or something bad. It was a very simple way to view life. She wasn't here to muck anyone's yum, but she could not fathom the type of person who would truly seek this out and find it to be true. Yet, here she was. Sitting in the Taproom eyeing Leo, humored by whatever it was he was attempting to scam future people in the midst of their vulnerabilities. Did she co-sign? Absolutely not, but she was curious what he would spew at her.
"I worked out. Calluses from weights," she explains for the hands. At the mention of her romantic life, she all but kicked him in the shin underneath the table. "Seriously?" she says, pulling her hands back. "I wouldn't pay you a damn penny. You're gonna need to find the highly intoxicated folks to get them to fall for your terrible trick, babe." He definitely would if he stayed around here long enough. "I think you owe me a tequila shot for sitting through that. It's a fair consolation prize, and you know it."
open starter âââ located deep in the stacks of lois and found, standing right before a painting hung on the wall. (@ciderstarters)
her attention is all-encompassing, marked with the surefire micro-expressions of nothing other than concentration and focus. a crease, seated between two brows, only furthered by eyes narrowed and a chewed lip out of habit. it was this portrait, something pulled straight out of a vintage movie or a horror flick, or perhaps both all combined into one: a family, blank faces and upright stances, surely adorned in their finest garb. " i feel like it's... haunted? " she doesn't mean to speak, it more so tumbles out on instinct, as if monty's own psyche is searching for respite in the figure looming near, surely someone who would much rather just shop unbothered by someone spooked by a mere portrait. " do you think i'm cursed now? like, is a spirit going to go home with me, just 'cause i made eye contact with 'em? "
Greer loved a good thrifting trip nd was happy to tag along and catch up with Monty since it's been a while. Thrifting was how her grandparents afforded her clothes through the years. Plus, upcycling clothing pieces felt far more authentic and unique than dressing like everyone else around her. She'd always stood out, so why change that now? As she was perusing through the aisles to see if she could find some unique tchotchkes for her home, she chuckled at their comment before eyeing the art. "Definitely haunted...I guess time will tell, won't it?" she smirked as she continued to examine the shelves. "Maybe you have to bring it home to avoid being cursed. Isn't there a psychic in town we could ask?"

Location: Outside Coastal Coffee, mid-morning
Christian lounged outside Coastal Coffee, sipping on an iced americano and a croissant. He had the day off today and had dropped Bailey at his parents house so he was enjoying his morning people watching. As the person walking by him dropped something, he stood and grabbed it calling out. "Hey I think you dropped this."
"Oh, it's all yours. Finders keepers and whatnot." Rubber ducks. It was a dumb challenge her and her friends were doing around town. Placing them in random places, casually leaving them on cars (not just Jeeps), and on the rare occasion just dropping them on the sidewalk, curious if anyone would pay attention to it. "Thank you for being courteous enough to try and return it, though. You've proven humanity is not all yet lost."

open  !!  â  open  to everyone  (  @ciderstarters  ) đ harvey's market
đ   "trust harvey to forget re-order dish detergent." there's two people standing in front of the shelf, with only one bottle left. "by any chance are you feeling generous today, enough to let me have the last one this week?" it's really not the end of the word, made clear by the look on josie's features. but she'd love to not have to drive out of town to get more detergent. petrol was expensive enough as it was.
In theory, she could come back here or have a delivery order dropped off to her grandparents, but Greer's whole objective today was to get everything they needed for the week. She did not have time any other day, and she loathed backtracking to a store she just left. "No, not in particular." Even if she were to suggest splitting the bottle, her grandmother would be unamused by Greer showing up with dish soap in a tupperware container. "You don't have a kind enough neighbor to borrow from?"
Do you hear VIENNA BY BILLY JOEL playing? Oh, that must be GREER KEEGAN breezing by. I donât know if you recognize them, but they look like FLORENCE PUGH to me. I heard that SHE has been in town for TWENTY-TWO YEARS (RETURNED A MONTH AGO), which is crazy considering they are TWENTY-SEVEN years old. yeah, they live over on ELECTRIC AVENUE, and i heard that they work as a PROFESSIONAL SOCCER PLAYER ( OUT OF TOWN ). i love that they remind me of OVERSIZED COLLEGE HOODIES, STADIUM LIGHTS, & SALT DRIED HAIR AFTER OCEAN SWIMS, but ⌠ugh, their playlist is so weird. why is MOUNT EVEREST â LABRINTH in the queue?
