There's something I need to talk about, regarding Interview With The Vampire. It's a show about problematic vampires. I don't just mean problematic like how it's used today, they are chaotic beings, incredibly emotional, carrying trauma for hundreds of years. They won't be "politically correct", they very rarely are accountable of their actions, they lie, they manipulate. Those are the characters of the story you are watching. To unify writer and character as if they were the same thing, when this is a show that clearly has very complex and layered characters that will not always be good will not always be nice, is to me, a disservice. I am open to learn more, the subject of separating art from artist is always tricky, but I feel that putting writers with the responsability of being problematic just because the characters are, I feel doesn't allow us to write or watch complicated and questionable characters in media.
