that it’s a beautiful beautiful story about the strongest thing we can do as intelligent creatures is come together and work together towards something that seems to actually only be fiction and the greatest thing we can do when faced with something strange and unfamiliar is to learn and to love and be kind

yet at the same time a really really tragic story about how one man is ostracized by society who won’t let him forget that he dared to challenge an idea and so he is lonely and outcast (quite literally) and that the true companionship he found is in an alien species because humanity is a species that hates on its own in such a gross manner at times

that society or a community can decide something is neat and cool and like the story idea and idea behind it and make it big enough to be an in theatres movie and have it PERFORM rejuvenates the soul
