Hallo!!

Here is some information about duchess from me, her dad.

Duchess’ gender?: duchess is an intersex crayfish, she displays male features and has nethers that don’t look like either, this is not an issue for me as I have no intent with breeding duchess.

Duchess species: duchess is a Procambarus alleni (also called the Everglades crayfish) from aquatic arts

Duchess favorite food: chunks of salmon and expensive plants

Duchess favorite hobby: digging a hole and trying to explode you with her mind

Duchess tankmates?: duchess lives with guppies, I stocked them as live food but she doesn’t eat them really, i don’t post live feeding.

Its weird though , ive owned other animals in these tanks before but something about duchess is so oddly personable like a reptile. I cant handle her but we still interact with sticks and toys. According to her batch number she turned 1 yesterday.

They cant love me, obviously. Her brain is too tiny and organized in weird ways to do so but the trust she has in me not hurting her when i clean the tank feels just as meaningful.

Now while this is a lovely wall of text may i mention this is the same animal i had to take the wave maker out of the tank of because she shredded an entire fish in it? She did that.

Most crayfish do not appreciate handling. There are a lot of people online who treat them more like a handleable lizard.

This is dangerous for you and your crayfish attached below is a wound from when my thumb got grabbed by her— not pretty

Even though its not a bite it was in a fish tank which can have some disgusting bacteria that can give you an infection

Crayfish are at a broad scale, bugs. They do not want to be pet, carried or held. They are content being watched and fed :,)
