I just think it's Inch Resting that "straight men watch lesbian porn because Lol More Hot Chicks And No Ugly Dudes" is seen as completely obvious and a well-known cultural joke, but when women (not even entirely straight women either) display a similar preference for gay porn it needs a billion thinkpieces and Substack articles and video essays to "explain why". The very fact that people think women liking gay porn requires this level of dissection is far more interesting than women liking gay porn in and of itself
yeah and we can dissect that instead
personally i think it's that society in general (and I'm including in this the outward behaviour/speech acts of many straight women) does not see women as being horny for men's bodies, or men's bodies as something that people are horny for. And then on top of that since men's attractiveness, not deriving from their bodies, must be bound up in their success as a man and being gay is a failure at being a man, gay men must be extra unattractive, so it's extra perplexing
What seems to be missing from this recent discussion is that "fujoshis are just horny" is, or at least was until recently, a widespread position in the discourse. And that this horniness is commonly framed as being somehow homophobic
The (conspicuously feminist) psychoanalysis explaining why women like yaoi didn't arise out of confusion or academic curiosity, it's a defense against accusations of fetishization
Accusations that are absolutely accurate - they do indeed have a fetish for gay men, and having a fetish is absolutely 100% fine and they shouldn't be ashamed of it!
And yeah I think a big part of it is a cultural incredulity that women can actually be sexually attracted to men (or indeed sexually attracted), and that they aren't just going along with sex and relationships en masse out of obligation.
Are the rumors true, Pjack?

Privacy advocates gained access to a powerful tool bought by U.S. law enforcement agencies that can track smartphone locations around the wo

and ALSO settings ➡️ privacy ➡️ Apple advertising ➡️ toggle "personalized ads" to OFF
more details about the process here via the EFF
Everyone has the potential to fall victim to being indoctrinated into a cult. Anyone can be sexually assaulted. Anyone can become a victim of an abusive relationship. Yes, even if you're intelligent and strong willed. Yes, even if you think you're tough and "don't take shit from anyone".
If you've never found yourself as the victim of a cult, or sexual assault, or abuse, the only thing separating you from people who have been victimized by cults / sexual assault / abuse is circumstance. That's it. Sheer luck. Luck over what family you were born into. Luck over who you were surrounded by when you were emotionally compromised or in any way vulnerable. Ect.
You are not better than people who have been victimized. They didn't do anything wrong to ask to be victimized. Anyone can be victimized by these situations given the perfect storm of circumstances. You are not better than people who have been victimized by cults / sexual assault / abuse.
You need to understand that if you are lucky enough to have never been victimized by cults / sexual assault / abuse, it's very little to do with how smart or strong you are or you doing all the "right" things. Someone can be smart and strong and do all the right things and still find themselves a victim given the perfect storm of bad circumstances.
The sooner this can be understood, the sooner we can do away with victim blaming culture. And the sooner we can do away with victim blaming culture the sooner atrocities like cults, sexual assault, and abuse can stop being so prolific. Victim blaming culture allows these atrocities to thrive. And they will continue to thrive until we shift the blame to where it rightfully belongs.

wait I have one more story. there's a group of anti-abortion protesters who often set up by the Ethiopian cafe I hang out in, and when I was waiting to cross one of them held up an aborted fetus sign and said "how does this make you feel?" and I said "hungry", and then I was so satisfied by my own cleverness that I missed the lights and stepped off the sidewalk into oncoming traffic

“I ain’t reading all that” your brain is rotting and shrinking
The Trump administration is spending more than $100 million to fight the "emergency" of "white genocide" in South Africa.
Every single one of the 599 refugees the US admitted last month was a white South African, according to data the State Department’s Bureau of Population released Friday.
In fact, so was every other refugee admitted this year. Since October 1, 2025, the US has accepted 6,668 refugees. Of those, 6,665 were white South Africans. Three—admitted last November—were from Afghanistan. No other refugees were admitted.
if you hate trans men for being men, that INHERENTLY means you hate them for transitioning, whether you want to admit that or not. Which, btw, makes you blatantly transphobic (even if you’re trans yourself). There is literally just no possible way to hate trans men for being men without hating them for transitioning and/or hating them for accepting their own transness. You can’t separate trans men’s manhood from their transness like they’re completely separate things, and in trying to do so, you make yourself sound completely ridiculous.
