Where else would you put Bug-type Pokémon, if not in a terrarium?

Today I’m showing you the terrarium I built for Heracross and Pinsir! The structure is pretty simple (also because of the game’s building limitations): a glass cube with a stone base, closed off with a pointed glass roof.

To match Heracross’s and Pinsir’s biology (I know they don’t get along, but I liked the idea of having them together like that couple in the anime), I added lots of fruit trees for Heracross—quoting Bulbapedia:

Heracross uses its two antennae to search for food by scent, and is especially fond of tree sap. As mentioned in Pokémon Sleep, Heracross is known to occasionally sleep while licking the sap it finds. This occurs as it can become exhausted from a potentially difficult search for sweet sap. It makes its habitat in boreal, temperate, and tropical forests.

For Pinsir, I built a custom tree out of blocks so it could be much larger than the in-game trees, and I dug out a small space under the roots to place a straw bed—again quoting Bulbapedia, which says:

Pinsir lives deep in the temperate forests and jungles, where it burrows underground or hides in the treetops on nights cold enough to render it immobile. In Pokémon Sleep, Pinsir burrows itself into the ground to sleep during cold nights but its pincers can be seen sticking out of the ground as it slumbers.

Another detail is the punching bag (?), which both of them seem to enjoy, and a small water basin to simulate the ones used in real-life terrariums to give insects something to drink.

I'm still a Monsterverse fan though because hey, a giant lizard with atomic breath—it's impossible not to be a fan, and I'm actually grateful for the Monarch series which still presents this aspect. In the latest Monarch episode I really loved Kentaro's nightmare because it perfectly captures those emotions: you're living your life and then suddenly you find yourself having to seek shelter because King Godzilla is stomping through your city

I created Trapinch's funnel trap

I'm working on transforming part of Bleak Beach into a desert habitat for Pokémon like the Trapinch line, Cacnea, and Cacturne—then I'll add others that make sense "biologically."

To start, I recreated Trapinch's iconic funnel trap, within the constraints of the block-based geometry. The pit is decorated with dead grass and withered trees, and I installed a door to close when it rains so the dead vegetation inside doesn't revive. Since there's no true desert biome, when it rains I have two options: perform the ritual with a Pokémon to make it sunny, or just wait it out—the smooth rocks in the funnel reset the environment anyway (I'm planning to add more as I find them). The house is shared with Vibrava, and both says they life is excellent!
