it's so funny to think about jin ling in the guanyin temple when you consider everything that was going on around him. his xiao-shushu has apparently done a lot of bad stuff and is now holding him hostage? xiyao is in a public and strangely polite divorce, his ressurected-uncle in the body of his other uncle (now, confirmed) is basically playing footsies with hanguang jun. and when his jiujiu arrives to rescue him, he throws himself in front of a very avoidable blow and proceeds to have an emotional and shouldn't-this-be-done-in-private breakdown bc apparently his other uncle unconsensually gave his golden core to him. jin ling left that night with the title of a sect leader and like, ten different types of trauma
