one aspect of LoK i haven't seen anyone talk about is the difference of korra having parents that are actually present makes. it adds a very interesting layer to her character, her parents just being normal parents that want to protect their child. aang was able to travel the world as 12 year old because he had to, but also because there weren't a lot of adults around and no one was "responsible" for him. korras upbringing was very different, very sheltered, and if you add the differences in her and aangs characters it explains a lot of her decisions and, as i said, is just a very interesting angle the writers decided to consider in LoK.
