something cool happened today. I thought it’d be nice to share.
so, in real life, we’re pretty open about being plural. we wear name and pronoun bracelets everywhere. we wear a “plural pride” bracelet everywhere. our phone case has two sides—one says “the future is plural”, the other says “without a doubt, us”, both with the plural rings in the background.
today, our professor complimented our phone case. I asked if she knew what it meant, and she guessed it was something non-binary related (which I find funny—“the future is plural, like they/them, right?”). I told her the truth. what plurality is. I showed her our bracelets.
you know what she did? she said, “oh, cool. so what name should I call you? it’s not weird if I like, look at your bracelets every day, right?”
I could’ve cried on the spot. I almost did. I just said that she was fine, she could call us our legal name or the one on our bracelets, either worked.
being openly plural is scary. we’ve had a few people look at us strangely, a few friends have cut us off. but fuck is it incredible sometimes. when people are open to learning. when another professor told me about how his wife had DID, and he thought it was similar to what I was describing. that was awesome. this was too. <333
During a stressful moment in the middle of the night we had our first split. And afterwards we were very, very lost. So we turned to Tumblr and got to adapting and curating our spaces. As time went on, we realized that the community is very...split, if you will.
Which made sense, being plural is very complicated! It's a disorder but also can be spiritual and not disordered at all. But I've seriously never seen levels of fakeclaiming this bad.
Let alone these levels of our own community wishing our kind didn't exist.
The art is inspired by a "The Future is Singlet" art piece.
Trauma doesn't define our existence. And if you believe that plurality is only caused by disorders, to say you wish an entire form of neurodivergentcy to not exist is pretty fucking weird.

median systemhood is still systemhood and part of the plural community, even when someone functions more like a singlet. plurality is a spectrum after all, median systems are more than allowed here.
To start us off: we are firmly pro-endo. The point of this post isn't to argue that endogenic systems exist and are valid - assuming that systems of any and all origins are valid is only the starting point to our argument.
The question we've been asking ourselves a lot recently is: does dividing systems based solely on their origins even make any sense at all in the long run?
The answer we've come to is: no, not really. The terminology itself is still useful, but more so when talking about origins of a single headmate, as opposed to the entire system. And if you're confused by that conclusion, then I encourage you to read the rest of this post below the cut.
Let me start be going through an example. Let's say that we're discussing a pretty newly-discovered traumagenic system. The term seems to suit them perfectly - there's a high chance that whatever trauma caused them to develop in the first place is still ongoing, and therefore every development inside their system will be tied to trauma in some way, because pretty much their entire life is. That situation is simple enough. But what happens when that system manages to escape the traumatic circumstances that have formed them? What happens when, after months or years of healing, most of their traumaholders either went dormant or processed their trauma and developed past their original purpose? If that system's recovery did not include final fusion as their final goal, they will still be a system. It is likely that new life situations will cause them to develop new headmates, headmates that will have nothing to do with the original origins of the system. After decades, most of the active headmates may have experiences way closer to those of the members of endogenic systems, because, in a sense... Those headmates would be endogenic. In situations like those, does it really make sense to define each system by merely the very beginning of their journey?
Something very similar can happen in reverse. When an endogenic system experiences trauma, it is likely that new headmates will form, and the experiences of those headmates may closely much those of traumagenic systems. But unless the entire system redefines themselves as being of mixed origins, any traumagenic-focused spaces, where they could search for community's support, would be closed off to them. Even if they would make the change to the label of mixed origins, many spaces will still reject them. But how does that make any sense? Why would we focus only on the moment of birth of one's system, when what shapes their experiences is their entire life?
The same argument may be made for willogenic and spiritual-based systems. Willogenic systems are capable of splitting new headmates completely unintentionally, just like systems of other origins are capable of constructing new headmates with the help of willogenic guides. Spiritual-based systems can gain new headmates 'just because', and due to trauma, and through constructing them, and in any other way, just as many systems of other origins have headmates that summon in new self-aware companions through their spiritual practices. Why would we pretend that the entire system has to fit its original label, as if systems weren't made up of living, breathing things, changing with each day as is in the nature of the living things?
Why are we, as a community, often so determined to see the forest for its first tree's single seed?
I think it's important to recognize that the concept of a "little" means different things to different systems.
- Some littles are less responsible and emotionally mature than adults, and some are equally responsible and emotionally mature.
- Some littles don't have access to adult memories and knowledge, and some do.
- Some littles formed in childhood, and some formed later in life.
- Some littles age or emotionally mature over time, and some don't.
- Some littles need to be sequestered away with other littles, and some can socialize with adults both in and out of the system.
- Some littles have childlike interests and enjoy media and hobbies associated with kids, and others have broader tastes in activities.
- Some littles need to be kept away from potentially mature content, and others are fine with seeing violence, swearing, sexuality, etc. in media.
- Some littles need to be kept off of social media for their own wellbeing, and some can safely use and enjoy social media.
- Some littles can't do certain tasks adult members can do (driving a car, cooking, managing money and doing taxes) and some can.
- Some littles need to be frequently supervised and have decisions made for them by older members of the system, and some don't need special supervision or guidance at all.
- Some littles are completely asexual and may find exposure to sexuality distressing, and some have sex drives and can consent to sexual activities.
Any discourse questioning "can littles do X?" should be answered with "it depends on the little". Individual systems should be trusted to make decisions that work for them. Judgment calls can be made by the little in question if they have that level of maturity, or by older members of the system if they need that kind of help. But I don't think those decisions should be enforced by people who aren't members of that system. (With the exception of the specific people involved in a sexual activity, who can give or rescind their own consent.)
In my opinion rules in online environments should accommodate littles, not make assumptions and box them in. For example, little-specific Discord channels - great! Littles are ONLY allowed to use little-specific Discord channels - not so great.
Ultimately we should keep in mind that while littles have their identified age in common, they may differ from one another in other ways. When it comes down to it, how things work for one system will not be how they work for everyone.
"systemhood is inherently disordered, you can't be a system if you aren't disordered" that's a funny way to say that you don't view functional multiplicity as a viable recovery option.
I see the occasional bit of positivity for large systems, but the numbers never even get close to what we experience. I get it, but it makes me a touch sad. So, here's to my fellow enormous systems!!
Shoutout to systems with 10,000+ members
Shoutout to systems with 100,000+ members
Shoutout to systems with 1,000,000+ members
Shoutout to systems with 1,000,000,000+ members
Shoutout to systems with infinite members
Shoutout to systems with an uncountable amount of members
Shoutout to systems who are constantly splitting
Shoutout to systems who don't or can't keep track of who's who
Shoutout to systems who are so large they function as one person
Shoutout to systems who are constantly blurry
Shoutout to systems who are so large they can't ever function as one person
Shoutout to systems who are large due to polyfragmentation
Shoutout to systems who are large due to willomancy
Shoutout to systems who are large due to walk ins
I'd like to give a shoutout to very large systems in general :] I'm glad there's such huge diversity in the plural communities. Feel free to share your experiences in the comments! I'd love to hear from more folks like us!!

I found an interesting paper with a scale for dissociation!
(I'd appreciate advice on how to make this shorter or more palatable for reach, as well!)
CW for general talk of experiences common with dissociation.
"A new perspective and assessment measure for common dissociative experiences: ‘Felt Sense of Anomaly’ "
I quite like that name, considering that's more how dissociation makes me feel as a being; like I'm an anomaly or like life/existence is.
it is specifically called the "Černis Felt Sense of Anomaly Scale (ČEFSA)." I think there may be a similar FSA, but the ČEFSA is the most commonly referenced.
the matrix, the matrix correlated to specific questions, and the diagnostic "test" are the images and documents, respectively.
Securely store, share, and access your important files and photos. Anytime, anywhere.
cernis-fsa-test.pdf ^^I was inspired to finally post this (I'd had it completed for like 6 months...) by seeing @guardianssystem 's extensive list of resources and research. Definetely check it out if you can!
I would like to gently request that this be included as well, as it is an *extremely new scale* (developed in 2021, IIRC) and I believe it is very useful.
I find it amazing for assessing and explaining my dissociation, and since it is an "official" scale (made by a psychologist, I mean), it is impossible to ignore several filled out boxes, so most days it helps with extreme denial.
some additional papers on it are:

by the way, i found these papers via Wispar, which is an incredible FOSS Android app that allows you to follow academic journals and look up specific keywords (even sorted by date!) instantly.
with an OpenAlex API key i believe it allows you to bypass paywalls(?).
FYI from now on we will be blocking all this anti-willo account shit. please block us if you are part of this anti-willo account shit.
this is genuinely so fucking stupid and pointless. spamming tags, fakeclaiming, doing nothing at all aside from hating endos, and being so ridiculously ableist when trying to defend yourselves, isn't helping the DID or CDD systems you're claiming to help, or supporting trauma survivors.
you're only being (really useless and annoying) assholes and we're just, so done with it lol

thank you SO MUCH for the resources! absolute goldmine. research is one of my passions.
if i was comfortable doing more research on dissociative disorders i would definetely help, but this is extremely rigorous and helpful research on all fronts.
With the recent shutting down announcements of multiple system apps, I decided to finally finish up a template I'd been cooking for a bit.
The formatting is reminiscent of SimplyPlural, with some additional features to allow for customization. Find it HERE! .. but read on for more information!
The template includes:
- Alphabetical Member Organization
- Alter Profiles with personal journals, personal notes, a wishlist, and a "more info" page with faceclaims and other information. - Front History logger and Collective Journal
- A page for note-taking
- A page for important contact information of people you know / emergency contacts.
- A page dedicated for links you find helpful.
Here are some important things to note:
- You have to manually input all alter information, which may be daunting, but you can do one at a time and fill out their full information at a later date.
- Notion has AI features... but they are OPTIONAL and you can IGNORE THEM!
If you end up loving or appreciating this template, please consider throwing a dollar or two our way. We are a chronically ill and disabled DID system who is dealing with job insecurity at the moment!
Notion can be a learning curve for some, but once you get the hang of it, it's a POWERFUL tool! It allows for offline access.
To make a copy of the template, go to the page and press "duplicate" icon in the top right corner of the page.
Since people will ask anyway, like they have with any new system app that's been popping up... my stance on endos does not fucking matter. I don't care who uses my stuff. At the end of the day, if it helps you, good. Don't worry about if other people care about you or not.
Consider me "neutral" in the way I don't care and I keep my opinions to myself and if I don't like people, I block and forget they exist. However... this isn't my personal social media. Something something business transaction.
Peace and love. More power to you.

With Simply Plural being discontinued, I'll re-share our list of software for plural folks:
I'm also going to rec @semiplural's post about analog tools and its followup (thanks, Blue!). I also wrote this post about the tools we personally use and would like to expand on it at some point that I'm not being steamrollered by health issues.
'but there are no proven research/clinical study articles to support endogenic systems/non-disordered plurality'-
Here's a series of articles on studies done by a team of PHD and Top School Psychologists published in volumes such as Clinical Psychology & Psychotherapy Volume 31, and the Journal of Childhood and Adolescent Trauma.
Clinical Psychology & Psychotheraply Volume 31 is overseen and edited by Paul Emmelkamp who is a member of the board of the ICD, who has approved a few of these articles for study and inclusion in the ICD-11.
Article One: Conceptualizing multiplicity spectrum experiences: A systematic review and thematic synthesis Zara Eve, Sarah Parry, Kim Heyes
Article Two: Young people's narratives of hearing voices: Systemic influences and conceptual challenges Sarah Parry ClinPsyD, Eve Loren, Filippo Varese
Article Three: Article Six: “Here’s Dissociative Identity Disorder, and we’re not that”: a constructivist grounded theory exploration of multiplicity experiences - Zarah Eve, Sarah Parry, Kim Heyes
Article Four: Article Three: Exploring the Utility and Personal Relevance of Co-Produced Multiplicity Resources with Young People - Zara Eve, Sarah Parry, Gemma Myers
Article Five: Exploring emerging multiplicity and psychosocial functioning: A constructivist grounded theory study Zara Eve
be against endogenic systems all you want. your opinions aren't my responsibility! but i am SICK of seeing the argument that there's no clinical studies or supporting information for them.
so take these studies, research the named psychologists and doctors, do whatever with it. but at least be aware of multiple studies and be ready to have a nuanced conversation about it instead of being inherently bitter towards others just existing

community will always persist, plurality will never be stamped out of existence. with our support of each other, we will always make it through. and that includes you, too!
This project is a template for the app Obsidian! The Vault features multiple customisable pages for storing alter information, front tracking and a chat function. Due to being an Obsidian template, it also allows the creator to expand on any pages, and supports markdown for any personal decoration!
Images attached are from the promotional post!
If you want to read more about this project, you can find all the information on its dedicated community post, or alternatively download the template directly from google drive!
