Jason fell into a relationship with Piper so easily not because of the strength of his love and attraction but because of his sense of duty and obligation.

the problem with most pjo powerscaling conversations is that people are just trying too hard to make sense out of a "power system" that rick never crafted or developed very carefully even in the first series. we knowwwww that nothing is sacred and rick forgets things and retcons other things and sometimes the abilities themselves don't even make sense. characters use an ability Once and then that ability ceases to exist and is never mentioned again (remember when nico controlled a giant rock in botl but then in hoo hazel is made out to be the one with Rock Powers while nico is the one with Undead Powers?). the other funny thing is that people seem totally uninterested in assessing how much a character is realistically interested in developing those powers in the first place, which is frankly the only aspect of pjo powerscaling conversations that I personally find interesting or valuable

there are very few characters who are actually interested in individual glory besides annabeth - very few characters who would want to become as powerful as they possibly could. we don't have a lot of goku/naruto-type characters who want to train and get stronger and test their skills by fighting as many powerful opponents as possible. every now and then you'll see a post going around that says something like "hazel will be the strongest demigod once she gets older and has years and years of rigorous training under her belt". and maybe that's actually true if it were to ever happen and she wanted to put herself through all of that. but if you placed a magical "Get Rid Of Your Godly Powers" button in front hazel she'd probably hit it after 3 minutes of hesitation to then leave new rome and go live the peaceful artsy horsegirl lifestyle of her dreams (caveat in tags*)

I suppose the point is that most pjo characters are not going out of their way to become the ultimate super soldier of their generation. some of them are disgusted and terrified by their own powers and will refuse to use them even if that choice gets them killed. all of them have been exploited by the gods and targeted with violence because of their powers. some of them cause harm to Themselves by using their powers. I guess I understand why people just want to play around with the question of "who is THE strongest most aura-farmingest badass-iest demigod in pjo" for funsies but the lack of consideration into the aforementioned points does make me wonder if people are often just using their blorbos as power fantasies in such discussions and therefore need to validate the efficacy and ceilings of those powers before they begin to unpack the thoughts and desires and inhibitions of the person using them

Headcanon that pre-HoO Jason was much more powerful because that was expected of him as Jupiter's son and that after his soft reboot by way of amnesia he wasn't the least bit interested in getting back to his former top form

early jercy where jason wants to fool around with percy but he’s anxious and overthinking what he looks like to percy. he’s never had an orgasm in front of someone so he’s trying to get comfortable, touching himself in percy’s lap but for the life of him he can’t come yet, edging and flushed and whining about how unfair it is. percy comforts him with hands in his hair, purring that one day he’ll get there, to take all the time he needs, etc.
