Why would you ask me this – you know it doesn’t lead anywhere healthy.

The first thing that Sara would feel is betrayal. She wouldn’t know why. Then she would be LIVID.

There’s no mistaking the fact that Xaan and Sara have a complicated relationship. They’re friends with benefits who have talked at length about how stupid the concept of love is, and how they both have seen enough and know enough to abhorre the whole situation. After all, on Sara’s side, the examples she has are laughable. 

Her sister ( @meowrauder ) martyrs herself for a Xaan’s brother, ( @gainsandgold ) who they both know will never love her; and she watches the way that Rhea ( @moonmothering ) tries to discreetly dump the bloody linens and clean up the warpath created by Rex and Lex ( @black-shroud-coffee ). Her childhood was defined by ever-constant movement due to their line of work, and it’s only recently that it feels like everyone around her has suddenly lost their minds.

By all accounts, Sara is well off. She has home, the company is booming, she’s being prepped to take over when Rex chooses to retire –

But she’s still not happy. Xaan is one of the few people who can make her legitimately laugh, and he is person she chooses to return and open up too because she feels like she can trust him. If he left her for any other reason – be it he no longer enjoyed her company, he was going away, etc – she would be okay with it. There would be some anger, but not the rage that would come from him falling for someone else.

She would be jealous. She would be overwhelmingly, unmistakably jealous. Because, though Sara openly admits hating the idea of love, it doesn’t mean that it’s impossible. It would probably occur to her that the closeness she felt towards Xaan was more than what comes from friends and, because of that, she would feel cheated in both him and herself. Sara would call him a traitor, she would hate herself for creating that softness, and she would be an extremely volatile person to be around.

Heaven forbid the poor person he fell for.
