They're in the watchtower together, discussing a case, the rest of the members are elsewhere around the Watchtower, when they hear someone come in behind them.

Wally: the Justice League weren't meant to be here today!

Dick: shhh we just have to be quiet and make sure B and Barry don't spot us.

Wally: Superman knows we're here! How do you know he's not gonna snitch?

Dick: I think I threatened him with enough kryptonite for him to get the message

Wally: Why do you have kryptonite on you?

Dick: Just incase

Wally: Whatever, as long as he doesn't tell Batman or Uncle Barry that we snuck out to the Watchtower to make out in peace we should be golden.

Barry: You what!?!?!

Dick and Wally: *freeze*

Dick: ummmm Hey B

Bruce: Boys.

Dick got a long and firm lecture about sneaking out, going to the Watchtower without Justice League approval and underage sex (Dick ran out of the room when he got to that part yelling Ew)

Wally came out to his Uncle and guilt tripped him about punishing him for sneaking out because "he just came out and was super vulnerable and that was sooo scary"

Fanfic Writer: Here’s a story about a character dealing with the trauma of childhood sexual abuse.

Me: Ah yes, a goldmine for angst. Who’s the character? Selina Kyle or Holly Robinson, who were forced into prostitution at a young age while homeless and desperate? Stephanie Brown, who was groomed for molestation as a kid, barely escaped and then had a creepy relationship with an older man that resulted in a teenage pregnancy?

Writer: Actually, it’s Jason Todd.

Me: Oh. Huh. Jason has never been sexually abused in comics canon.

Writer: Yes, but we don’t know that he wasn’t. He was homeless and desperate as a kid! He could have been a prostitute!

Me: Well, that’s… just Selina and Holly’s backstories, but okay. What else you got?

Writer: I have a fic about a character learning to feel secure in a home and found family after an unstable, abusive, deprived childhood.

Me: Cool! That applies to all the aforementioned female characters and Cassandra Cain, who was a homeless vagrant for nine years after fleeing the absolute hell of her upbringing. It’s part of why I enjoy their arcs so much.

Writer: I also have one where a character is acting as the protector of the poor community they grew up in, with a special focus on looking out for kids in similar situations to them, wanting to be there for them in contrast to how the adults in their own life had failed them. They reflect on their past and stuff. You know, how they have hope for this community against all odds. Even if they might have been part of the systematic problems keeping these underprivileged people down earlier in their career, but now they want to atone for that.

Me: This is exactly why Selina became a vigilante instead of just a thief! She did some self-reflection and realised that having made her own fortune, she’d abandoned the lower classes to indulge herself like all the complacent social elites she hates. So she vowed to protect and support the East End, her old neighbourhood (which happens to contain Crime Alley). She and Holly both later ran the Alleytown Kids, a gang of needy children that Selina had been a member of in her day. She even renamed it the Alleytown Strays. And the idea of becoming what your childhood self needed, both for yourself and all the kids like you today, is foundational to why Stephanie ascending as Batgirl feels so right to me; she went from being a girl sitting on her roof wishing a Bat would save her to being the Bat saving and inspiring kids.

Writer: Yeah, but how does this sound? A hero’s war with depression, self-loathing, even suicidal ideation. They wonder if they can do anything but kill. They carry the pain of being violently murdered, thanks to their own long-lost mother no less, after which they were resurrected and later separately healed in a Lazarus Pit.

Me: I love it! Are you referring to Cassandra?

Writer: Um. Ooh, how about this fic? It has a gritty, tragic, tormented antihero wrestling with the moral complexity of their lethal actions, their fraught relationships with the Batfamily, and how closely they veer to embodying the very evil they seek to destroy. They’re true vengeance in a purer, sharper form than Batman, who they at once emulate and scorn. A hunter stalking Gotham’s worst souls in the night. They go on a beautiful journey to discover some degree of idealism, build stronger bonds, navigate emotional vulnerability and dare to believe that they are not damned or broken, and are still capable of healing as well as hurting. There are also themes of religion and spirituality.

Writer: The antihero is Catholic.

Me: Oh my God. That has to be Helena Bertinelli.

Damian, definitely thinking of a raccoon: So then Pennyworth is feeding a random stray that crawled out of God knows where?

Dick, annoyed: He's not a 'random stray', Damian, he's family, and he has been living in this house for way longer than you have.

Tim, typing away in the computer:

Tim: Nothing! He just didn't like me taking 'what was his', or something.

Damian, nodding: You invaded his territory.

*The next day*

Damian: Father, when do you think Jason will visit again? I want to meet him.

Bruce: Um. I don't know, Damian. He doesn't come here often.

Damian: Why?

Bruce: Because he lives somewhere else.

Damian: Why doesn't he just live here with us instead? He would be safer.

Bruce, wincing: I don't think he would like that, Damian. He's not confortable here.

Damian: But, maybe if I befriend him I could convince him to stay.

Bruce, sighing: I don't think so, Damian. You have to respect his space.

Damian: Oh...

Damian: I hope he doesn't get rabies

Edit: POV: Achilles watched over Nico and Bianca because Persephone and Hades were too busy

Persephone: Now, you behave for Achilles, you understand? You do as he says.

Nico and Bianca, nodding: mhm

Persephone: Good. Achilles, do not let them out of your sight.

Nico, recognizes his armor and is immediately dazzled: Wah! *goes up to him and crawls onto his lap and plays with his armor*

Achilles: Yes

Patroclus: Because we didn't know how else to explain what we feel for each other. Because what we feel for each other goes beyond words that could describe.

Bianca: So, you love him?

Patroclus: *looks at Achilles*

Nico: COOL! Does that mean my philtatos can also be a boy?

Patroclus: Of course it does!

Hades, in a meeting: Come in.

Hades, standing up from his throne: Niccoló, Bianca *rushes to take them from Achilles*

Hades, to Achilles: What happened?

Achilles: That little one *points to Nico* was wandering the halls

Hades: Niccoló.

Nico: *buries his head into Hades' shoulder*

Hades: Bianca, you were supposed to watch over him.

Bianca: *looks down* Sorry, papa.

Achilles: No harm came to them, your majesty. I think they were simply exploring the castle. I'd be more than happy to show them around.

Hades: That's very much appreciated, Achilles. Maybe another time. *To Nico and Bianca* Come along, you two. Time for bed.

Nico, looking over Hades' shoulder: *waves goodbye to Achilles*

Persephone, running into the throne room: uhm, Hades, can I please borrow you for a moment?

Hades, worriedly: Persephone, what's wrong?

Walking to Bianca's room:

Persephone: I wanted to give Bianca a haircut because her bangs had gotten so long. So I sat her in front of her mirror, and brushed her hair. But the more I brushed her hair...

Hades: ...what?

Persephone: *opens the door to reveal Bianca playing with her hair*

Bianca, with black/silver flames coming out of her hair: *looks up* Papa, look! MY HAIR IS ON FIRE! :D

Hades:

Nico, waddling up to Hades on his throne: Papa!

Hades: Hm? Yes, Nico, what can I do for you?

Nico: Papa, can you give me one more arm and hand?

Hades:

Hades: Why do you want another arm and hand, bambino?

do you think something slightly shifted in Bruce and Alfred's relationship after Dick came home. Dick being a hell child who bites and screams and breaks stuff so high up Bruce doesn't even know how he got there. And throughout the entire thing Bruce realises that it wasn't that hard. All those years he spent excusing alfred because "I was a hell child, give him a break. It'd be hard not to yell, or threaten to leave, or hit" but then Dick comes and he could never imagine doing any of that to his precious boy.
