I used plastic canvas and yarn! I didn’t take into account the width of the wood and overlap in the measurements, so if you’re also secretly an 80 yo in a 20-something body I recommend squaring up all the measurements to either the 4.5" or 5" mark depending on preference. I made my lid a hinge and then just added edges to make it look finished with the herringbone design. I also recommend instead of cutting a curve front to go by the grid to make it easier to wrap the edges.

If every woman on earth woke up tomorrow and realized they were non-binary or trans men, they would still be at a significant disadvantage compared to men.

a "stay at home girlfriend" is in an incredibly dependent and unsafe position. every single thing she could possibly need to purchase is entirely reliant on her boyfriend. as long as her bf likes her, she has a home, food, healthcare, etc.

if he changes his mind or falls out of love, her financial security is swept out from under her.

if god forbid down the line he abuses her, she has 1. no money to her name to leave (9 times out of ten, an incredibly necessary resource to leave). and 2. has limited to no work history. she will be years behind her peers when searching for employment.

"a man is not a plan" is true. you could do everything "right" and it could still turn sour.

I'm not pro- forcing women to not be stay at home girlfriends. I am pro- ensuring women are informed when making decisions that affect their future.

as for your use of "valid" in the beginning, I don't know how you're using it so I can't really speak to that. I can however point to several things I wrote:

if you don't see why I dont endorse this, it's because it's unsafe and unreliable. you said "there are certain freedoms stay at home girlfriends get to enjoy that working women don't," but my whole point is that these are not freedoms. if a huge and critical part of your wellbeing (food/shelter/health/wants/needs) is dependent on whether or not a man keeps liking you, that is not freedom. point blank.
