well basically I wrote it from Samael's view, observing his brother slowly going mad losing himself to his ideals and the new identity he constructed as the ''leader of the illuminati''
phosphorus means ''light-bringing'' in greek, like Lucifer (also from Rin's name) the dimming is Lucifer's fallen state/the entropic decay of his body, and the blue night destroying the all research, except for what research Lucifer took.
''the owls aren't what they seem is [a reference to the owls in twin peaks being the eyes for the spirits of the black lodge, and how Lucifer uses the ''owl'' mask as an identity to protect himself. the comment Samael makes about Lucifer ''wearing the mask well'')
I actually see Samael as a very patient and non-judgemental being, despite most people's opinions of him. (After all, he knew how unstable his brother was, and the experiments were to try to help him so he wouldn't create more destruction) This is about the pain of watching his brother Lucifer's trauma warp him into somebody else. And I've never seen anyone ask Mephisto(Samael) if he's o.k. so this is from his perspective.
