just wondering what is your personal favourite item in isaac? not even going for what it does, just mainly about it's design and possible reference to media, religion or the story. :3

in game wise, my favorite item is probably d6. im a huge fan of rigging isaac and d6 is one of the best at doing so (if you know what youre doing). maybe a little bit biased bc you know isaac starts with d6 so im going to end up using it more than most other utility items but still thematically, i cant really think of one single item, but probably brimstone. isaac thinking of himself as this demonic figure with the power to shoot blood lasers is fascinating. most of the devil pool in general has this cosmetic feature, of turning isaac into a demon and whatnot. the pact, whore of babylon, abaddon, lord of the pit, the nail, way more, all just feeding into isaacs thoughts.

the angel pool is also pretty cool theme wise, instead of isaac turning dark and becoming a demon, he becomes an angel.

i really like the theme of devils vs angels story wise. it just tells us how much of a struggle the concept of "sinning" is for isaac, and how it affects his daily life, and how hes thinking about it all the time

a friend of mine sent a screenshot of their isaac map into the gaming channel of this server.

frankly, it was just. weird.

so many weird things. first, the most obvious thing, the weird disconnected hallway. then, there's three treasure rooms. there should only be TWO treasure rooms on an XL floor. and there is also only ONE boss room, when there also should be two on an XL floor. speaking of the boss room, the super secret room is INSIDE the boss room. not to mention, it's burning basement, and there's a mirror. on BURNING BASEMENT?

then it gets WEIRDER?

she sends a video of the full cleared map

that secret room. is located. INSIDE OF. the 1x2 room.

i've just gotten some more information after having to explain what was wrong with the map to my friend who doesn't play isaac.

frankly now im just. even more confused.

i tried getting the seed and testing it myself, but it was totally different. it wasn't even an xl start. this was my layout.

this is all just so, so strange.

i'll come back with an update if i have one.
