Got ahold of a Na’Vi figure and decided to put my own spin on it.

sex is a social action, doing it means you are taking the needs, desires, and wellbeing of the person you're fucking into account. it takes a certain amount of mental energy and a certain mood to do that? pulling up xhamster and cranking it is like, using similar body parts, but its a completely different task.

Taking this at face value (something it doesn't deserve to be taken at), like yeah, they're at fucking work, they're actors, this is their job. They're being asked to just randomly start having very specific forms of sex while surrounded by a professional camera crew; they get no foreplay, no build up, nothing, just get hard and get to work. This isn't somebody they're having sex with because they find them attractive (they might, but that's kinda irrelevant), and they're not doing it because they're horny. The people they're having sex with are also at work, and are in the same situation.

Think about it, unless you actually think these people are insatiable fuck machines who are horny 24/7, or you have some very stupid ideas about gender and sexuality, then you've got to realise that of fucking course they're going to need some assistance to get in the mood. Like for fucks sake, imagine just walking into work for the day and then just being told to disrobe, stand in front of the camera being operated by a bored intern eating doritos or something, and then just wait for the signal to begin having rough strenuous sex with your bored co-worker who hasn't started acting yet.

I see these topics come up on occasion, with people railing against porn for one reason or another, but the one that catches my attention is the “it’s exploitative/paid rape”. Now, I know, given context clues, you’re referring to actors and actresses, things like you’d see on Pornhub or similar sites, but pornography extends beyond that, at least in my experience. So here’s the question for clarification on my part:

How does this *Gestures to the argument/position/debate* relate to pornography that doesn’t deal with or contain real people (Rule 34, hentai, 3DX content, doujinshi, etc.)? Does it apply at all beyond the whole “pornography addiction” argument, or am I missing something? It feels like a good brunt of the argument is about the exploitation of people, but if there’s nobody being exploited then…*confused shrug*

these days you have to publish a dissertation and make a 100 page powerpoint with textual and subtextual evidence to back up the fact that you like seeing two characters together because apparently people can only ship what’s canon now

back in my day we used to be able to ship characters who never interacted,
