One year ago, I took two OCs that I made for character design challenges and added them to Miitopia. These OCs, Venus and Azrael, joined a side party whose sole purpose was to earn achievements for the remaining jobs. I don't know if it was their designs, their potential dynamic, or the "opposites attract" trope (side-eyeing Zane-chan), but something clicked for me. This cleric/vampire duo haven't left my brain since then.
I've been writing a story for these two and the rest of their party, but I'm not sure if it should be a comic or an AO3 fic yet. I hoped to make something about how they met, but I'm stuck on some details (not much info about vampires in Miitopia). Instead, we're coming full-circle with another meme redraw involving stars. Here's the gist of my weird polycule's relationship before and post canto. I wanted to make a joke at first but it doesn't feel really appropriate for some reason. Like it might just convey the wrong idea instead, so I didn't.
I mean I'll just put it here in text. Sometimes it feels like Shou is the kid in between two bickering divorced parents and sometimes I just refer to Chetwyn and Shou as Ermine's two wives. I know he thinks that when he looks at them interact from behind their bus seats. Big wife and little wife... In his heart Chetwyn will always be the First Lady even if she doesn't like him back.
