sluts! our greatest resource: part deux
made some fabric bookmarks from a 1984 billy joel tour shirt for @thebreakfastgenie and i 🎹 look at my mighty works or whatever it was that ozempic guy said
As fans of the new show, we feel a weakness was in making Abby the judge.
Judge Dan, ADA Olivia, PD Abby would have made more sense (and worked with the timeline, too). Judge Olivia hating Abby and Abby begging Dan to come prosecute would have been compelling, too.

Mojo Magazine | September 2026
sorry I love this painfully mid media so much I could throw up
Video discussing the rise and fall of The John Larroquette Show. (I'm not affiliated with the channel or creator in any way).
General consensus seems to be that it was ahead of its time and would have done much better in a streaming era.
To me, the first season remains the best. Season one is like its own separate show in a way. It has grime, despair, and dark humor, but also moments of hope and healing. I think one of my favorite episodes is #5, The Unforgiven. John helps a runaway teen and in turn, she helps him by listening to his list of wrongs.
I also love that the season one episodes were structured after the steps in AA. Overall this was a very different and unusual premise for a sit com and I wish they'd let it stay as it was.
AND in Season One, I love how John looks with the slightly longer hair! He looks good no matter what but the first season hair is special to me. (Do we think that was box dye, or done in a salon? Whose idea was it? I must investigate further! Would also be hot if they'd let it be the natural grey! 😍)
Also, random, I wish they'd let John call it Crossroads like he originally intended. It's a perfect name for a bus station/life changes show, and it's the same as the Britney Spears movie that came out years later which I also love 🤣 (Though if the show had been successful as Crossroads, they might have named the Britney movie something else so as not to cause confusion? Lots of alternate universe possibilities....)
i watched this as well and it overall does a pretty good job of summing up the history of the show. It was cool to see someone mention the writing team and that they go on to write Arrested Development, and mentioned the meta and borderline surrealism of TJLS later seasons as kind of a test run for what they would do with AD.
i was interested in the point they brought up about naming the show JLS instead of Crossroads because JL is a recovering alcoholic (forgive me if that is the incorrect term) in real life. I've never heard that before. John has said in at least 1 interview I recall that his character was named John because it took down 1 of the walls between the character and audience (I'm paraphrasing) which I suppose could be applied to the title of the show, but I would really like to see the source for that point.
The only other nitpick I have about the video is when they talked about Daryl Chill Mitchell they referred to Galaxy Quest as happening after his motorcycle accident, which is not the case.
And you are absolutely correct, Hem's hair in season 1 is wonderful. I doubt the world was prepared for a long natural grey haired Hem in 1993, it would have been too powerful, so they nerfed him. Just another reason NBC is stupid when it comes to this show. 😄

I started watching Night Court this year and I'm so obsessed with Dan Fielding. A flamboyant womanizer with a big ego who's actually a total wimp, he's just my type!!! 😖 I made a fancam!!!!

First Lines Meme
Rules: Share the first lines of ten of your most recent fics and tag ten people. If you have written less than ten, don’t be shy and share anyway.
1. yours sincerely, wasting away
It’s not that their age gap bothers Ron, exactly.
2. tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies
When Seth had cancer the first time around—the only time around, damn it; the instinct to lie was hard to shake even in the privacy of his own head—he kept having these moments, little flashes, where he’d step out of his own body and see himself with a chemo drip in his arm or hunched over the toilet dry-heaving at three in the morning like it was all happening to somebody on TV or something, and he’d think, how the hell did I get here?
3. it seems i only felt the thorns
Guy’s doing the dishes when he gets the call.
4. all that you need will surely come
Ron doesn’t believe in helping others.
5. here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
Marble House is one of the loveliest homes ever built - certainly the Kissam Vanderbilts, now Cornelia’s distant relations through marriage, agree - but Cornelia believes its truest value lies not in its temple-front portico or extravagant interiors, but in the fact that its fifty-odd rooms provide ample opportunity to hide from the masses.
6. you're all in the world to me
Back when the Justice Gang was just starting out, Guy did an interview with Cat Grant, a little hey, Metropolis, let’s get to know the Guy (see what I did there) who’s gonna put his life on the line for you for the foreseeable future type deal.
7. Across the Universe
Before Michael died, Paula was a morning person.
8. These External Matters of Laments
Billy spends the first anniversary trying to drown himself in a bottle of SoCo that Harkes gave him for Christmas.
9. Only By Such Repetitions
“Sorry, what the fuck is this?” Lord says.
10. oh, baby, give me one more chance
Mike breaks up with him on a Tuesday.
tagging anyone who sees this and wants to do it!
Happy 59th birthday Phil, I love you with the most love I could ever give. Thank you for giving us so so so much more than I’ll ever be able to repay
"People's eyes light up when you say you're from New Orleans... You garner from it a sense of adventure and a sense of the spectacular in your life that you take with you everywhere you go. You can't leave New Orleans and be a boring person. I don't think you can live here very long and be really boring." A FRIEND IN NEW ORLEANS (1992)

I looooove him. He is charming, he is a little machine. It's so satisfying to me to just listen to him groove. Even when he fucks up.🤌🤌Also this drum sound is good.
Also, literally the only good part of this song is the drums, sadly it's attached to this slop song lmao.
