"And what did the world give him in return for his kindness?"

"They dragged him away. Cut his hair. Forced him to his knees, and shot him. Like a damn animal! Humanity couldn't bear to return the same compassion, the same love he so foolishly gave them."

"You wanted a monster. A witch you could whisper about in the dead of night to scare children. A warning to those who would step out of line. Who would dare question why they should fear the shadows."

"Well, congratulations. You got your wish."

"Who's Owen? And what are the Ides of March?"

"Wait, isn't that the holiday in Cevil where they celebrate the stabbing of a senate representative?"

"Ah!! I am sorry!"

Gaki yelps, startled by the action as she stumbles forward and out of the way. She turns back to see the mess that'd been made. "Oh! No, I'm sorry!" Gaki splutters, shifting the sling of sticks on her back before moving to help pick the buckets back up.
