is it wrong to want a dead wizard so bad?
No no, our man faked his death and spent the rest of his life relaxing in a seaside cottage with an otter familiar who helps him in his home lab. He lived happily and fulfilled. You can't change my mind.

Me when people criticize Snape as a teacher, but never the others teachers at Hogwarts... :
Dumbledore was the very worst school principal. He was biased, constantly put the students in danger, allowed bullying to go unchecked, and had no orientation for incoming muggleborn students. Just the worst.
Hagrid was literally a lawsuit waiting to happen. Like why no parent freaked out over a convicted felon being at the school with them is wild, regardless of him doing anything or not. He had his wand snapped!
Care of Magical Creatures had no regulation at all.
Then there's McGonagall (I love her but lbr) Her bias was sooo strong that she literally nearly let Sev die. She seemed to not care all that much about him even when he became her contemporary.
The amount of hostile creatures just allowed to be around and in the school? The Giant Squid, Fluffy, a BASILISK, ACROMANTULA? Who the hell is safe?
Don't get me started on the hypocrisy of letting Lupin take DADA. I have a soft spot for the man but it took one missed potion for him to become a murderous animal chasing after students.
Lockhart was so obviously a liar and inept, I wonder often what his classes must have been like and if the other professors just kept him around for laughs.
Moody(Barty Crouch jr.) Regardless of the polyjuice, used the Unforgivables in front of and on the students. Not to mention turning Malfoy into a ferret.
In a semi-normal world being attacked by a professor in retaliation for an act of bullying is traumatizing and pretty fucked up. But to be turned into an animal with no way to turn back unless someone saves you? That's straight up evil.
We all know about Umbridge. But the fact that none of them, in all there 'fighting for the light' helped the students, is appalling. She could have easily forced the students into submission without literal torture. The world is full of magic. You cannot tell me that a group of Professors wouldn't be able to stop her. Be so forreal.
IRL Hogwarts would have the reputation of that one highschool in your town where a kid stabbed another kid in the hallway but the school denies anything happened.
I told my kids I'd never have allowed them to attend Hogwarts under Dumbledore. They'd be in constant danger, for one. And either be played as puppets in some political bs that shouldn't involve children or ignored completely because they're not those puppets. Whatever education they happen to stumble upon would be incomplete and at the whims of whatever bullsh*t the school principal is hyperfixating on in the moment. It's the worst kind of unregulated charter school we're plagued with in real life.
Also I chaperone summer camps and if the adult:student ratio is more than 1:20, the camp devolved into Lord of the Flies chaos. Older student leaders (counselors at camp, prefects at Hogwarts) can only do so much as they still must attend to their own education. Hogwarts had ONE Head of House in charge of 70 students each 24/7, helped only by a few prefects who are kids themselves, no wonder that place was a f*cking train wreck of bullying and misbehavior.

Look I fycking love Snape
But if we had AGE ACCURATE SNAPE or BRAND NEW PROFESSOR SNAPE
I would be on my knees in the most obscene way
Our man was only just over 30 when we first meet him. It's even more painful to know that canonically he died before 40.
Thankfully fanfiction can fix it! Now he gets to get old and eventually become a silver fox!

Draco and Hermione strolled hand in hand through the moonlit forest of their honeymoon retreat. The canopy above them parted, revealing a sky full of stars. Draco stopped, his gaze fixed upwards.
Hermione squeezed his hand. "Knut for your thoughts?"
Draco's lips quirked in a half-smile. "They're worth at least a Sickle, I'd say."
"You've been distracted all evening. What's wrong?" Hermione asked gently.
"More like... what's right," Draco replied, a nervous smile playing at his lips.
Her curious gaze urged him to continue.
Draco took a deep breath. "I've never been able to produce a Patronus. No one in my family could, except..."
"Sirius?" Hermione offered softly.
"Yeah," Draco nodded. "We Malfoys never had a moment that outshone the darkness in our lives."
Hermione reached for him, but Draco stepped back into the shadows. A flicker of hurt crossed her face.
Seeing this, Draco quickly added, "It's okay. It's just... none of them had someone like you, Hermione."
His grey eyes softened. "Since our wedding, I can't get the image of you in your dress out of my head. You were so beautiful, and I thought: this is the happiest moment of my life."
Hermione's eyes glistened as Draco continued. "Being here with you, a thought occurred to me, and it's been consuming my mind."
Draco lifted his wand, his eyes closing. "Expecto Patronum," he whispered.
A silvery mist erupted from his wand, forming a majestic dragon. It soared through the night sky, its light dancing between them.
Hermione gasped. "Oh, Draco... it's beautiful."
Draco's eyes opened, filled with awe as he watched his Patronus swirl around them. "You didn't just bring light to my darkness, Hermione," he said softly. "You showed me the light that was inside me all along."
