This is the best description Iāve heard for this method, I always thought it was bullshit because I never heard a description that actually explained how to do this other than ātap your head 20 timesā.
I have anxiety-induced hissing, which sounds/feels different from sound-induced tinnitus (which I have also experience). Sound-based tinnitus actually sounds like youāre āhearingā something in your ears, whilst the hissing I have feels like itās āinside my headā, if that makes sense. But this technique still helps!!
OH MY FUCKING GOD IT WORKED!
Ive had tintinis my whole life and its just⦠fucking gone. What the fuck
I just tried this! I think it seriously works!
This has been added on the reddit thread and I think this might be useful here as well, since you can actually see the method demonstrated:
rebloop to save a life
ok... but if a trans girl has had surgery and ""passes"" in a way you can't distinguish her from a cis girl then youre saying you could be attracted to her? :/ objectively nothing changes except what anatomy a girl has and not every girl is going to tell you that upfront. if you can look @ a girl when she is fully clothed, view her as a girl and think she's attractive, but when she's nude suddenly dismiss her gender...? that's very much a you problem. trans girls are girls.
even if that ātrans girlā (infantilisation, gr8) existed, no surgery makes someoneās body the same as the opposite sex. bottom surgery doesnāt result in a self-lubricating vulva with the same texture, scent, and the like. surgeries donāt give someone a female skeletal structure. surgery doesnāt change a Lot of traits. so yeah i am strictly same sex attracted regardless of the amount of surgeries someone has bc there arenāt surgeries that change your sex! my body isnāt a space you can use for validation nor is my sexuality!
also itās not about dismissing someoneās gender lmao. sorry youāre offended someone is exclusively same sex attracted rather than attracted to gender tho
nobody is saying that there arenāt attractive/āpassableā trans women (or āgirlsā ew) out there, anon. what we are saying is that the moment this person says theyāre male, that attraction goes away. automatically (for me at least).
no matter how much makeup he cakes his face with, no matter how many surgeries he gets, no matter how long heās been on hormones, a male is a male. lesbians do not want to fuck feminine males. to push this narrative is homophobic as fuck.
Hereās a good analogy I saw.
I can make a steak out of plastic. Paint it so that it looks very realistic, when you see it you cannot tell that itās a plastic steak and not actual meat. Youād probably think āwow thatās a delicious steak! I cant wait to eat that!ā But when you actually try to eat that you realize itās just plastic. And you cant eat plastic. Now that you know that, you dont want this steak anymore.
See my point?
Plastic stakes ARE steaks. Itās IN the name.
If you donāt want to eat plastic thatās a you problem smh š
Y'all need to stop making fun of heterosexuals because if you do it too much they change their pronouns and start calling gay people "genital fetishists" and saying not fucking them is like racism š

āHow many times in your life have you been excluded from something important or talked over or ignored because youāre the only woman in the room?ā
One of my favorite stories:
My mom was working as a lawyer when she was pregnant with my twin siblings. Late in her third trimester she had a court date. She asked the judge if it could be postponed due to her pregnancy but he refused saying she was āmaking a ridiculous excuse.ā So she squeezed into the biggest maternity suit she could find and went to the courthouse. When she stood up in front of the judge, 8 months pregnant with twins and clearly in no condition to be standing for an extended period, the blood drained from his face. He tried to backtrack saying she could sit down, but being my mom, she chose to stand and glare at him for the whole damn hearing. He found in her clientās favor.
They renovated the office bathroom to be āeco friendlyā and replaced paper towels with a blower.Ā And got rid of all trash cans and other receptacles.Ā Yup, even the little bins inside the stall.Ā I and other women complained loudly, and were told that there wasnāt anything they could do about it.
So I took my used pads and threw them in the trash in the kitchenette area without being shy about it.Ā The men were grossed out.Ā Other women in the office were shocked, and were like āarenāt you ashamed to do that?Ā I just smuggled them home in my purseā
And I was like āIām not ashamed.Ā The company should be ashamed to make me do this.ā
We had bins in all the stalls the next day.
Incidentally, a refusal to provide adequate sanitary bins contravenes workplace health and safety laws regarding the handling of biohazardous waste.
Which, of course, blood is. Feel free to point that out if it comes up.
This needed to be added

as a german kid i Used to wonder why our radio stations like to play the american national anthem so much until a friend explained to me that Country Roads Take Me Home is not in fact you guysā national hymnā¦
That song came out like a month ago, how old are you
How are you posting from 1971?
homie thought lil nas did country roads
The photo above is the closest humanity has ever come to creating Medusa.Ā If you were to look at this, you would die instantly.Ā
The image is of a reactor core lava formation in the basement of the Chernobyl nuclear plant. Itās called the Elephantās Foot and weighs hundreds of tons, but is only a couple meters across.
Oh, and regarding the Medusa thing, this picture was taken through a mirror around the corner of the hallway. Because the wheeled camera they sent up to take pictures of itĀ was destroyed by the radiation.Ā The Elephantās Foot is almost as if it is a living creature.
Friendly reminder that this blob of core material was so hot and dense, it melted/burned through three floors of the building before coming to rest in the lowest basement.
And thereās now a unique species of black mold that feeds off the gamma radiation it produces.
Is no one else seriously freaked out by that mold? No? Just me, then?
wiki article about the mold
LOVE that mold!
okay but
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwhy was someone shooting it with a kalashnikov
I can sleep again knowing that The Elephantās foot is weak to Kalashnikovs
I love that mold because humans made a mess we have no idea how to clean up and barely five years later we discover an entirely new kind of fungus thatās just⦠eating it. Radiation levels are going down much faster than any of our models could predict, this stuff hasnāt been found anyplace else in the worldā¦
Elephantās Foot: *releases horrifying levels of radiation fatal to most life* Heretofore unknown species of mold:
Theyāre evolving

āWe often have to explain to young people why study is useful. Itās pointless telling them that itās for the sake of knowledge, if they donāt care about knowledge. Nor is there any point in telling them that an educated person gets through life better than an ignoramus, because they can always point to some genius who, from their standpoint, leads a wretched life. And so the only answer is that the exercise of knowledge creates relationships, continuity, and emotional attachments. It introduces us to parents other than our biological ones. It allows us to live longer, because we donāt just remember our own life but also those of others. It creates an unbroken thread that runs from our adolescence (and sometimes from infancy) to the present day. And all this is very beautiful.ā

based on a true story
I donāt think Fortnite is to blame for kids nowadays not readingā¦
Thatās the joke. Itās the authoritarian overbearing parent.
He was being sarcastic lol
Reminded me of these
That violin one hit close to home.
I remember doing homework once, asked my grandmother if she was proud of me. āDo some thing for me to be proud of.ā That hurt.
That comic up there ā I witnessed almost that exact scenario. Teacher wanted the kids to all pick books. One kid spots something on the shelf and gets visibly excited. Pulls it out and starts reading. Teacher sees it, snatches it off him and tells him that this is a book for 8 year olds (the kid was 15ish) and tells him to get a book more appropriate for his age. Kid slouches around the shelves for about 10 minutes, finally picks up a book at random and sits in his chair tucking the edges of each page into the binding to make that looped-page look. He didnāt read a word. He sat there and did this to his book for the remainder of the reading session:
He had been genuinely excited about the 8 year old book heād picked up. It was a new one in a series he used to read as a younger kid. Heād been actively sitting and reading, and then he was embarrassed in front of his classmates, told off for reading a kids book, and voila. He lost all enthusiasm for reading anything else that day.
Whatās worse? That kid had been hit by a car like a year and a half earlier. Severe brain trauma. Had to re-learn a lot of basic things, like how to speak and how to read.
An 8 year old book would have been perfect for him. Easy enough to read that it would have helped rebuild his confidence in his own reading ability. A book meant for 15/16 years olds? A lot harder to read than a book for 8 year olds. Especially if youāre recovering from a relatively recent brain injury.
And yeah, the teacher knew all about his brain injury, and the recovery. He just seemed go be of the opinion that the kid was 15, so he should be reading books for 15 year olds, irrespective of brain injury.
Reading this thread Iām reminded of Daniel Pennaeās The Rights of the Reader, which can be found in a lot of bookshops and school libraries:Ā
The child speaking at the bottom in Quentin Blakeās distinctive spiky handwriting is sayingĀ ā10 rights, 1 warning: Donāt make fun of people who donāt read - or they never willā
