Have you ever seen Jim Henson and Frank Oz's appearance on the Russell Harty Show to promote The Dark Crystal?

At the 20 minute mark, UrAmaj, The Cook, visits the set and Russell asks some rather pressing questions, such as "How do mystics go to sleep?" and states very astutely, "He's got slightly a tearful look."

But UrAmaj isn't the only one Russell gets to meet! SkekEkt and SkekShod make an appearance too, when Russell gets to sit at their table, and gawk at their strange choices of food.

yknow after sitting on this for like...6 days, I think I was a little harsh here. a little.

I skimmed reviews of the special--totally not in a desperate search for one that's opinion aligned w/ mine--and 1 of em made a point I was tryna articulate. it p much said "part of the muppet show's vibe is dependent on when it was made. no matter how hard u try, u can't 100% recreate the vibe of a 1976 show by just doing it again in 2026". so yeah, I should've said smth like that instead of w'ever I said. also wanted to make it clear I DO hope for the love of pete this gets a full revival going. if it does, I might make a wishlist but I think u can tell I want it to be used as an opportunity for more changes and risks and stuff, and I think this would be a good place for them

Uncle traveling matt cosplay!!!! That I am kinda proud of!!!!

Little details I like and wanted to point out X ) : - I painstakingly stick glued brushed out yarn to my upper lip and eyebrows and sideburn area little bit by bit! ( It held great all night actually!) - I made

- that little scarf ascot thingy from a old sheet with map/compass/palm tree pattern on it, I was so lucky I had something so matt core like that just laying around

-I also made the tail!!!! Lots more brushed out yarn and braiding little pieces in the base to make it have that fluffed out looked like fraggle tails usually have. Hope it looks ok X )

-i added tons of buttons/beads/danglies ! I wanted to pretend they were his outer space treasures and badges of honor and stuff X D also it was just fun too me. Do you guys see the little scooter hanging from my coat!!!! Cute taking him with me teehee!!!!

What do you make of the Jim Henson auction? Does it seems like they need the money and it's going bankrupt or something else? Feels like the begining of a goodbye.

Honestly, I don’t know. I don’t know what goes into making these kinds of decisions. I do not work or speak for the Jim Henson Company. From how I see it, AoR was cancelled, so there’s no need for these props anymore so they’re probably trying to make room for the props and set pieces they still need, and they’re prioritizing what nostalgic pieces are being kept and preserved by the company.

Hopefully these pieces are going into some well-kept private collections and the new owners know how to properly preserve them.

#agree with this take. i hope the people who buy things know how to preserve them #however in terms of liquidation. i’d like to believe that’s not so #they need funding all the time and especially now because they’re a huge creative conglomerate #but some of these puppets are going up for $60k as a base price and i’m sure they will attract more funds #they rebuild puppets all the time and there has been a henson resurgence lately on all fronts #so like. the and of it all
