pressure weighs on the foundation where pillars give in & the drywall cracks, your sutures & gauze not enough patchwork to reassemble a veiled interest now lost. you do the unthinkable & quit, looking for value in technicolor. stripped from your scrubs to don glitter & lace, this road less traveled satiating a past self you were scared to revisit. but the fulfillment is most satisfying, your freedom in abandon leading you toward all that’s new, all that’s unconventional. not knowing where you’re headed, exactly, but the adventure is what’s half the fun.
