Wicked witch of the west.
Meet Nova The German Shepherd And Pacco The Ferret, That Are The Unlikeliest Of Best Buds .
Practical, not sexist or supposed-to-look-hot female armor which actually protects you.
Look.
Look at the lack of tit cups.
Bonus:
argument: captain phasma’s armor is supposed to look hot. but, this is the crucial thing, it looks hot from the point of view of the character herself, and makes perfect sense in the context of the story.
“Phasma had the armor polished in chromium, which had been salvaged from a Naboo yacht that had once belonged to Emperor Palpatine of the Galactic Empire, the First Order’s precursor.”
phasma has spent like all her life in the first order, as a storm trooper. you ask any storm trooper ‘what would be the sexiest possible modification to your armor’ and none of them are going to say ‘cut a boob window’ they’re gonna say ‘plate it with something HARDCORE’.
after they finish high-fiving, they will probably add, ‘AND STICK A CAPE ON.’
#other hot thing about phasma armour: #Gwendolyn Christie is inside (via @holdbeast)
a good thing has appeared on my dash!!!
also, ask a stormtrooper what they really, really want, and they might glance around a bit before saying, “individuality”
no one else looks like phasma, and for a stormtrooper, that’s pretty amazing.
Bless this post
by any chance, would you happen to have a tutorial or step-by-step process for how you personally handle setting up desired perspective for a specific scene? i remember seeing this post ( /post/183910268539 ) on your blog a while ago and it made me really curious, and also bc you have such a neat art style in general so i thought i'd ask if you had a specific process for establishing perspective in your drawings.
I justttt started up that piece again so hopefully i can show it soon but–
i actually learned point perspective at like. age 6 because i was tired of drawing cube houses during recess. obviously learning how to do that might be best, but i’m still shaky on putting people into perspective drawn settings, so i cheat a lot
photoshop has a transform > perspective tool that i used in that drawing. so first i drew up a vague floor plan:
the double lines are an outer wall i knew would block the view there entirely, so anything above that was only what was viewable through an archway.
I stuck orange markers in where i wanted the figures to be, keeping in mind that the three in front are children, and the three in back are mostly in vague silhouette.
now i used the transform > perspective tool to change the view to this
this picture was entirely symmetrical so i was ok with 1 point perspective. this gave me an idea though of where to vertically expand things to make this:
these two i only used perspective for sizing of figures and a vague concept of where ‘straight up’ might be in the first one
these i manually drew in the points to fit a very rough sketch underneath
my best advice is try to learn how vanishing points apply to like–non architecture, how a grid can help you even with a figure on a blank background. do i do it? nah. do i know i should more often? yes!!!!
in general i like to sketch things ‘flat’ within a box and then transform tool them to fit on a grid later

I get asked about folds a lot and this video explains it beautifully and gives great examples. Honestly it reminded me how important this stuff is and that I need to spend more time studying it.

Follow the artist on Instagram!
-taps chin- I LOVE YOU ART >:U please with share with me the secrets of what brushes you use, and what technique you use -leans in-
Thanks a lot. I’m glad you like my stuff (:I use a different brushes and coloring techniques. It depends on my mood i guess. In last time I use that.
Sorry, my SAI is only on russian, but I hope it’ll help you anyway.
Other brushes I usually use.
Why do artists refuse to use references why why why.
It’s not a contest to see who can get by without them. It’s not cheating to look at a thing in order to know what the thing looks like.
You don’t get stronger or better by pretending. Nobody is impressed by the awkward whatever-it-is you just drew. Use references.
I don’t think a lot of people know that it’s not cheating. I recall seeing so many piece of art called out because they referenced a pose, someone recognized it, and then proceeded to shame them for it. There’s this belief, both by creators and the audience, that artists should just be able to translate the ideas from their head to paper, and if they don’t, it’s plagiarism, or not true originality (spoiler alert: there’s no such thing).
I myself didn’t start using references until very recently, because even I was under the impression that it was frowned upon. And that belief has seriously crippled and stalled my ability to improve as an artist.
As a restarting artist, I can confirm. I just never knew. I thought you were just supposed to know how to draw the body correctly and if you didn’t you had no talent.
(( I am going to say this again, loud and clear for everyone:
USING REFERENCES FOR ART IS NOT ‘CHEATING’!!!
If you can draw/paint without references, great! But if you need to use them, and feel that your art can be bettered by using references, please, use them! This is one of the biggest tips I can give to artists, is USE REFERENCES!
Anyone who would dare to attack someone for using references after ‘recognizing a pose’ is a dipshit, who doesn’t know a thing about art.
Do you know who else used references for their art?
Norman Rockwell
Alphonse Mucha
Gustav Klimt
Toulouse Lautrec
Vincent Van Gogh
Paul Gauguin
Edgar Degas
Gil Elvgren
Frida Kahlo
Pablo Picasso
Disney Studios
And thousands of others! So, artists! Go forth, and use references!!! ))
SLOW GOING_(:з」∠)_
I’ll finish the color soon(;_;

what is this trans misogynist nonsense on my dash
I was cleaning and organizing my room and I found this picture of my warden Nataly Brosca meeting her idol Sorsha Aducan (by the lovely @momochanners ). And I have been playing all the dragon age games and wanted to draw her again and what better way to redraw this. I still love momo's art and she is amazing. And just love her lady Aeducan.
