Even after you insisted that you could manage alone, Dean and Sam had stuck around for a couple of days. Dean even showed you some extra kindness by offering to help you shower, before you declined (with some hesitation). The braces on both wrists were supposed to ease your ongoing carpal tunnel pain. Consequently, being nearly squeezed to death by the snake-like tendrils of an Echidna monster hadn’t helped your situation.

Dean watched her from the relative safety of the couch as she frantically move around the apartment. Cassie re-counted the 10 place settings and fluffed the pillows on the couch again, and checked the turkey for the trillionth time.

“Babe, calm down! Everything is going to be amazing.”

Finally he couldn’t take it anymore, having Cassie so close without having his hands on her was torture. He pulled her onto the couch by his side. Dean held her tightly around her waist, trying to will her into sitting in one spot for two minutes.

She had decided to not visit her family this time. She had gathered a group of other students who were staying in town and they were due to arrive in about an hour. She wouldn’t give him a straight answer but he wondered if he was a factor in her decision. Earlier she had invited him to go with her but, he had to stay in town for this case.

“You think so? This is my first official Thanksgiving on my own. That’s a lot of pressure, Babe.”

Okay, so this is not the usual stuff you see on my blog and I bet most of my watchers don’t know this show, but honestly? Killjoys is just finishing its third season (no news of renewal yet but it’s a strong possibility) it absolutely BAFFLES ME that it is not more popular among Tumblr crowd.

Seriously. This show is so much better than most people give it credit for, especially from season 2 and up. Go and watch it now if you like any of the reasons below:

Totally bad-ass WOC lead and her two male sidekicks who are absolutely aware that they are sidekicks and have no problem with it whatsoever.

Bounty hunters in space. If you miss Firefly you should really watch Killjoys.

Female empowerment. Women are absolutely amazing characters. Ladies run the show behind the scenes as well.

No sexism or racism in the universe. Diversity in race, ethnicity, sexuality.

Healthy approach to sex. Casual hook-ups are fine, so are relationships. Or multiple relationships. Polygamy is okay. Pegging is cool. Total respect for sex workers.

Gay warlords. Gays in space. So much gay and it’s totally normal - no one even bats an eyelash at all the gay.

Unusual approach to religion. Masochistic (hot!) monks.

Science and nerds save the day as often as brute force and soldiers.

The show knows what it is and can make fun of itself pretty often. They don’t try to pretend to be something they are not.

No fake drama for the sake of drama! No terrible secrets that characters hide from each other for three seasons. Conflicts get solved fast.

The Good

WHEN is the last time the boys hunted alone? It was a nice reminder of classic SPN, as well as the ghost story.

SAM trying to help Dean. LOL. Reading reviews for Strip Clubs! And Dean’s tidbid about Sam hating strip clubs and spending the whole time trying to convince the stripper to go back to nursing school- hilarious! I guess he thought therapy was a fail, so went back to classic-Dean likes. Loved their interaction. Especially love him pushing Dean to talk at the end.

BILLIE! I was all happy that Lisa Berry liked my Happy Birthday tweet to her earlier in the week. This was added bonus. Really hated how her death went down, but this makes it all better.

I WAS hoping they would tie Cas killing Billie to why he ended up in The Empty – consequences and all. I wonder if her little “How’s that working out for him?” was confirmation?

I CAN’T get enough of that Dean/Billie discussion. It deserves to be remembered as one of the best scenes of the show. It reminded me of Dean’s discussion with Zachariah in season 4– because of the whole Cosmic Landscape theme. However, Billie has different motives and is not an evil asshole, so that’s a plus. This is one of the times when the show is at its best.

FROM his continual returns from death, to having actually killed Death, Dean’s connection to Death continues. However, is anyone going acknowledge that Dean actually WAS Death for 24-hours back in Season 6 (Appointment in Samarra)? Would love Billie’s reaction to that!

The Bad

HONESTLY didn’t have too many beefs with this episode. I though Dean suddenly having those syringes was a bit off. But the scenes that followed it helped it make a bit of sense. I do love when they show Dean’s ability to think, plan ahead or shift gears under pressure.

The Quote-y

SO many great quotes this episodes. I mean, The whole Billie/Dean conversation alone was worth the price of admission!

Dean to Shawn: “I know what it’s like to see monsters. And I know that when they’re gone, they never really go away. You see them when you close your eyes, you see them in your dreams.”

Dean to Shawn: “Me and my brother, we’re the guys that stop the monsters. We’re the guys that scare them.”

Billie: “It’s funny to hear a Winchester talk about the finality of dying.”

Billie to Dean: So, you wanna die. I say, keep living.

Dean to Sam: I just need a win. I just need a damn win.

A/N:

I am unfortunately well acquainted with the topic of suicide and in relation Depression and I want to acknowledge that the show got three crucial aspects correct. I think it’s worth a separate post.

In the meantime, just reminding you dear reader that you are important and that you matter, that you are not a burden but a gift to you loved ones.

- I trust you now fully appreciate why I couldn’t tell you about Sarah’s case. - I hope you now understand why you should have.

Person of Interest - 1x21 (Many Happy Returns)

This is truly the one scene where I fell in love with John. I can’t really explain why. Maybe it’s because after almost a whole season of seeing him kick asses and rescue people, that one scene truly shows us the depth of his vulnerability. He usually looks so strong. John always tries to be strong. And he is strong in many ways. He survived a lot of ordeals. But he is also fragile. And that scene is very revealing. He tries to be strong, as always. He tries very hard not to cry, thinking the Machine had “seen” Jessica, that maybe they could have saved her. But it’s gonna eat him, the idea that someone knew… That maybe he could have done something…
