Volume 2 of Thousand Autumns finished!🍃

SY is born to a pair of wandering cultivators and grows up constantly on the move with them. His Baba is a skilled healer and they mostly survive off him providing remedies for people. Diedie used to make swords, he still can with proper assistance but he was very seriously injured before SY was born and is still in bad shape... But they both love him dearly and SY grows up knowing all about swords- spiritual and not- and every possible medicinal plant within a thousand miles.

He knows his parents don't particularly like the Emperor, he knows vaguely that they're hiding from something... But it isn't until he's eleven that they're resting in a town when the Emperor arrives for a surprise visit with some local noble and his parents freak the fuck out.

He spends a week with them hiding in an abandoned building- the visit turned into a wedding between the emperor and some noblewoman- with only Baba venturing out to get food occasionally. And during that time Diedie tells him a story, about who his parents used to be before he was born.

His memories of his past life are hazy, but a number of things now become incredibly obvious in hindsight.

He's in PIDW. The Emperor is Luo Binghe. His parents are former Peak Lords Mu Qingfang and Wei Qingwei. Diedie is so hurt because Luo Binghe very nearly killed him before getting distracted. Baba was also seriously hurt but managed to keep himself and Diedie alive and escape the destruction of the sect.

It's fine, this is fine. He can work with this, his parents' plan of constantly moving around has worked so far, even this close call was ok. Really this is kind of ideal. He's getting top notch cultivation training from his parents. He can explore the world of PIDW without worrying about running a foul of any Plot Stuff. No former Peak Lords ever turned up in PIDW after all...

Sorry for hacking this post, but I keep thinking of this.

I can easily imagine Luo Binghe persistently trying for ten years straight to sleep with Shen Yuan and Shen Yuan not even looking at him for the simple reason Luo Binghe cannot treat his parents nicely. Luo Binghe cannot separate MQF and WQW from SQQ and keeps blaming them for his abuse, even if they had nothing to do with it, they didn't stop it, so they are guilty. Even if he, on some logical level, understands that doesn't make sense, he cannot accept it emotionally.

I also imagine that his previous life's memories are not as clear as canon. Like, instead of dropping into the body with intact memory, he was reborn and as he grew older he slowly started remembering some things. He remembers vague details about the story, he remembers more clearly how he felt about the story, hatred at the plot but love for Luo Binghe, but that love feels distant to his current life and memories, to the parents who love him, the parents who carry ugly scars and grave health issues, parents this man that feels more like a legend and a monster than a cool protagonist wants to sweep away to the background like they are nuances, and suddenly, he can't recall that previous love.

LBH, after ten years: Please please please please please please please, have sex with me.

SY: No.

LBH: I will make you empress.

SY: No.

LBH: I will heal WQW's wounds for him!

SY: Get ten feet close to him and I'll make sure you can't revive me.

LBH: I've been told I'm amazing in sex and a single night with me will make you experience pleasure like no other, I promise you it's worth it.

Character A approached Character B in an "enemy of my enemy is my friend" situation but it turns out that no one has ever approached Character B for an alliance before and they are now super smitten with Character A and even more invested in being "allies" than in defeating their shared enemy.

Character A: we will make our enemy regret being born! 🥂
