A list of pro tips to Mofftiss if they donât want Johnlock to be canon
make it clear from the first episode that they are both straight
tell martin freeman to stop licking his lips and checking out ben every five seconds
basically any of martinâs acting choices lbr
and donât forget benâs acting
stop having him make that handjob pose in promo shots
burn the unaired pilot, every single second of it is radioactively incriminating
donât have a beautiful shot of them holding hands while running together, the two of them against the rest of the world
donât have the groom and best man wear the same suits like with a gay wedding
donât center the groom and best man in the center of the reception
major sholto ex-commander
the entirety of the best man speech
show the actual straight wedding
show anything at all related to affection between John and Mary
literally everything in the stag night
including filming in a gay nightclub
with topless men surrounding sherlock
while they both drink out of phalic-shaped test tubes
maybe dumping johnâs hair in hair product wasnât the best idea
try not writing mary as a villain who almost murderers the title character
or, ya know, find any of 100+ ways to write her as a complicated but still loving character
basically donât put sherlock and john in the same shot together. it is a scientific law that once you put those two in the same breathing space they will exude gay vibes
the bi-coloured background lighting behind john was a bit much
rainbows flying around sherlockâs head??
while showing off da vinciâs perfect man with johnâs head pasted on
moustache burn
âi like my doctors clean-shavenâ
military kink!!
i havenât even touched TAB
yeah, probably shouldnât have made TAB
honestly wtf did you expect after 90 minutes of watching a gay coke dream with multiple dick jokes and softĂŠ sherlock and smoking hot badass victorian johnÂ
oh god i forgot about the flashlight-in-the-mouth
and entire-box-of-cigarettes-in-mouth
and tyre leverÂ
iâm not gonna touch The Fall, it was gorgeous writing and also extremely sad and gay
john. just⌠john in general.Â
everything sherlock has ever done.
âiâm there if you want itâ
âheâs always like thatâ âhe does all that anywayâ

Honestly Mofftiss⌠if you are trying to tell a story about two platonic friends you are failing miserably. Join our side and have some fun admitting to one of the greatest love stories of all time, that deserves being proud of and shouting from the rooftops!
my anger about john being nice in fics is boundless who are all of these friends heâs going to pubs with. he is the loneliest man alive before he meets sherlock. for fun he plays cluedo with sherlock and reads while sherlock is complaining about nothing and goes on cases with sherlock and writes a blog about sherlock. for his birthday he goes out to dinner with his four friends that were ž originally Sherlockâs friends and he only does that because he thinks he canât have what he actually wants which is to just spend time with Sherlock
Iâm sorry? but when John told Mrs. Hudson he was to be engaged his exact wording was that heâd âmoved onâ like WHOâ
WHO WOULD EVER SAY THAT ABOUT SOMEBODY THEY ONLY CONSIDERED A FRIEND. WHY WOULD YOU HAVE TO MOVE ON FROM YOUR BEST FRIEND IN ORDER TO GET MARRIED, JOHN. WHY WOULD ANYBODY HAVE TO DO THAT. đđť
Watson and I feel that, in order to do our best work, the chemistry needs to be right.
#see THIS is what makes Sherlock in Elementary so unique#a lot of versions of Sherlock#or pretty much Any modern crime drama would have the brilliant detective calling the other detectives âidiotsâ#or âamateursâ or basically insulting their intelligence and ability as detectives#here Sherlock is both acknowledging their skill as detectives and crediting that to their Captainâs leadership#while also acknowledging that he canât work with them because THEY donât like him#all the while he is accepting as fair because heâs self-aware to know heâs not easy to work with#there are ways to depict an anti-social genius without being a huge asshole to everyone#and this is it

Okay but⌠Picture this. Lestrade has them come by nsy to fill out paperwork theyâve been dodging. John meets sherlock there after getting Rosie from daycare. Theyâre filling out forms and Rosie is playing by herself when she knocks over her toys. âmycroftâ she mutters in clear disdain, as if it were a swear word. Sherlock loses it. Heâs crying laughing. He swears he didnât teach her that and begs John not to correct her since sheâll figure it out as she ages. John fails at trying not to look amused. âmycroftâ becomes their in joke. Spill some tea? Mycroft. Experiment gone awry? Mycroft.
Anyway. Thatâs what my brain came up with today. Somebody spin that into a good story since Iâm a terrible writer.
Yâall ever mess up putting your phone charger in your phone completely sober just to flex on sherlock holmes
I've said it before but I'll say it again
Molly pines for Sherlock. Molly writes about Sherlock on her blog. Jim, who has never been heard of before but supposedly works with Molly, asks her out to drinks on her blog. Jim later is revealed to have been lying about his true identity and turns out to be a main antagonist.
John pines for Sherlock. John writes about Sherlock on his blog. Mary, who has never been heard of before but supposedly works with John, asks him out to drinks on his blog. Mary later is revealed to have been lying about her true identity and-
Well. Iâll let you fill in the rest.
Yep. You forgot one more- sending video messages from beyond the grave. Aka not actually going away when they die.
It took me a moment.Â
At first I was like, wat
And then
I GET IT NOW OMG
that took way too long to understand
after a minute it hit me omfg
it took me approximately 0.002 seconds to get this. iâm in too deep.
sherlockâs face the day john brings a puppy home for himÂ
little bit of soft, little bit of surprise, little bit of tremble. do you like her? john asks, holding puppy in his arms, dodging her little paw when it swipes at his chin.Â
sherlock doesnât blink. he reaches out a hand to touch the wayward paw with one fingertip. whatâs her name? his voice cracks.Â
sheâs yours, if you want her, john says. heâs smiling. heâs thinking about when people cry out of happiness. you can decide.Â
john, sherlock breathes. can i see her? he holds out his arms, and john settles her, soft and wriggly and trying to sneak kisses, into them. iâm not sure i know how to name a puppy.
john laughs. as long as you donât name her after a serial killer, itâll be fine. Â

Say what you want about bbc sherlock bringing the sleuth into the 21st century but??? They donât understand??? The first thing!?? About technology??
Like, Mary stores ALL her spy data on a memory stick.
Sherlock chats with a bunch of women by having six laptops open with different chat windows??
Sherlock thinks a binary code can open all the worldâs locks!?!
Harry canât fit her charger into the hole so sheâs a drunk?? Weâre ALL HARRY. #justiceforharry
BBC Sherlock brings Holmes into the 21st century but heâs like, your mom
Oh my god itâs so true.
#justiceforharry
#justiceforharry
every mission becomes a date if you take your love interest with you.
Sherlock only texts Irene back after John implies that Sherlock letting her have âthe last wordâ in texts might mean sheâs special to him kamdkadkjandskKN LIKE IM
THIS. THIS SHIT JUST. BLEW MY FUCKING MIND BECAUSE. THIS IS TRUE. BUT I NEVER. I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT. OH NO. OH NO. WHY.
Hell yeaahhh!!
AND THEN BY NOT ANSWERING JOHN AT THAT VERY SAME MOMENT WHILE PLAYING THE VIOLIN MEANS HE WAS GIVING JOHN THE LAST WORD. BECAUSE USING HIS OWN WEIRD LOGIC, SHERLOCK LET JOHN KNOW HE WAS THE SPECIAL ONE. FUCK ME. I HATE THIS SHOW.
sometimes my brain just beams back to 2014 and i get enraged thinking about how much mary wanted sherlock to die and how stupid sherlock is if he thinks she wasnât trying to kill him
LIKE LISTEN
he fuckin has all of the information he needs because he knows exactly how good of a shot she is
he just either drew the wrong damned conclusion or is lying
she didnât fail to make a kill shot
like. she killed him? he fuckin died and is only alive because of the miracle of gay love
she hit exactly where she was aiming so that he would die but not right away
she needed john to be focused on trying to save sherlock so that he wouldnât immediately pursue
but she was fuckin worried as hell at the hospital when john said sherlock pulled through
she did not mean for him to survive
she meant for him to die slowly
it was a stone cold strategic decision
she deadass had 0 problems with killing her husbandâs best friend to save her own ass
iâm sorry but anyone who thinks she was not trying to kill him is a damned moron
AND FURTHERMORE
IF ANYONE BELIEVES THAT THE WOMAN WHO DID THIS SUDDENLY MORPHED INTO A SELFLESS MARTYR WHO WOULD THROW HERSELF IN FRONT OF A BULLET FOR SOMEONE
THEN IâM HERE TO TELL YOU THAT ITâS BULLSHIT
that woman would only take a bullet if it benefited her in some way and thatâs just the damned truth
No mother would just throw herself in front of a bullet like that, to save, what, her husbandâs best friend?!
RIGHT
she had a baby at home only a few months old, but she was supposedly like âwell i owe sherlock one, john will be fine with the baby, peace outâ
file under: Things I Am 100% Not Buying
the only two possibilities for maryâs death, imo, are that a) sheâs dead but it didnât happen the way we saw it, or b) sheâs not dead yet
remember when hudders destroyed h0lmescest sherlollo maryl0ck and adl0ck in one line

Shipping Johnlock - we didnât start it, they did.
Mycroft ships Johnlock.
âShould we expect a happy announcement by the end of the week?â
Mrs Hudson DEFINITELY ships Johnlock.
âThereâs another bedroom upstairs, if youâll be needing two bedrooms.â
Angelo ships it insistently.
âIâll get a candle for the table, itâs more romantic.â
Moriarty ships it resentfully.
âI will burn the heart out of you.â
Irene Adler ships it amusedly.
âSomeone loves you. If I had to slap that face, Iâd avoid your nose and teeth too.â
Jeanette ships it frustratedly.
âYouâre a wonderful boyfriend! And Sherlock Holmes is a very lucky man.â
Ella ships it sneakily.
âEverything you wanted to say to him, but never did, say it now.â
John ships it, deep deep down.
ââŚAnd no one will ever convince me, that you told me a lie.â
Sherlock ships it desperately.
âYou. Itâs always you, John Watson. You keep me right.â
In the end, didnât even Mary ship it?
âI know what you could becomeâŚthe Baker Street boys, Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson.â
Sherlock is autistic
- in the season 4 teaser that was shown on the Stephen Covert show, John and Lestrade are making a joke that Sherlock explicitly says he doesnât get. Its extremely common among autistic people to have a very odd sense of humour/not get jokes when theyâre obviously being made.
- In The Hounds of Baskerville Lestrade and John have a conversation about it: L: I suppose he likes having all the same faces back together. Appeals to hisâŚhis⌠J: Aspergers?
- People with autism often obsess over things: - Pirates, as a child - Crimes in general, or each separate case, depending on how you look at it - John, to an extent
- A lot of autistic people revert back into childhood obsessions/ways of talking, might be why he calls his mother âMummyâ
- He gets very excited about things: - When Lestrade comes with the fifth âsuicideâ in asip - When Henry Knight comes with his case in thob
- He doesnât eat a lot, this could be because heâs very specific about what the texture of the food is
- People with autism general have other conditions: - OCD, which Mycroft says Sherlock has in tab, - ADHD, which Sherlock also has (I couldnât give you the reasons but, seriously) - Depression and anxiety, I think these are self explanatory
- Sherlockâs not very aware of other peoples personal space
- He doesnât pick up on social queues
- He seems to talk âatâ people i stead of having a two-way conversation
- He doesnât like/reacts negatively to being told what to do
- Itâs common to not adapt the tone and content of your speech to different social situations if youâre autistic: - at John and Maryâs wedding he starts the speech very formally and quickly rather than casually, what is usual in that situation - when heâs talking to victims heâs often very unsympathetic
- He likes things to be a very certain way
may I add some more bc i totally second this and itâs so important to me
- he stims all the damn time: heâs always flipping whatever object he is holding, his hands and fingers are constantly moving, he paces, Â he rocks back and forth in THOB when john wonât let him smoke, he folds all those napkins when he gets nervous about the wedding
-he gets really fixated on things like solving a case or planning johns wedding that he wonât do anything else until itâs done
-he talks really quickly and people canât always keep up with his train of thought
-sometimes he takes things literally
-he can be blunt about things
-sock index
- good memory for facts and figures as well as things like brands, recognises brands really easily
-he isnât aware that he is johnâs best friend until john tells him explicitly
- likes to be in control
- has difficulty expressing his emotions
- he has executive dysfunction, relies on mrs h and John to remind him to eat etc.
- no interest in smalltalk
- has trouble figuring out how his actions will affect other people/their emotional responses to his actions
-prefers to text than speak on the phone
-relies on John to tell him when people are joking or being sarcastic or when heâs said something inappropriate
-his big deductions are basically infodumps
- expresses emotion in unconventional and often nonverbal ways (the violin, the dancing/spinning/jumping), is deeply attached to people without often talking about it or showing it in conventional ways, but when given specific instructions to talk about John has an incredibly detailed and well-thought-out list of why he loves John and why John is so wonderful and so important to him, and when John needs something specific and says so (wedding planning, a case) he follows through immediately
- only wears muted colors and patterns, soft, flowy, heavy, non-irritating fabrics, pj shirt inside out so the tag wonât scratch, goes barefoot or wears well-structured shoes
- has a difficult time understanding that people he cares about canât guess whatâs happening in his mindâis genuinely shocked when they havenât figured out what heâs thinking/feeling/how he feels about them
- surrounds himself with objects that are surprising for others but that carry emotional and mental interest/significance/comfort for himâhis entire home decor is testimony to this and especially the sitting room and bedroom
