tumblr is genuinely trying to push negativity onto the platform and there's a genuine problem we have with that. many people like us come onto the platform to escape reality because it's fucking grading and hard to deal with and seeing just how shit the world and it makes us want to crawl into our shells and never see the world because we've seen so much negativity and hatred and anger, but never any progress
there's a genuine problem with pushing negativity but they've got incentive to do so, because anger and negativity goes FAR. it is the thing that occupies your brain the most and makes you want to spread it so it gets far and your fight or flight response keeps you glued to the screen.
the problem is that while it does cause outrage and that's intended, tumblr's main audience is weird folks who are shunned by the world and already are dealing with so many problems that adding on to it just makes them want to hide and run away and dissapear off the internet forever
so what's the solution you may ask? post more wins. post transgender stories that lift people up. post happiness. post memes. dump your cat photos on my dash and we'll probably reblog it lmao. talk about how much good there is in the world. post about scientific discoveries that genuinely improve people's lives like dr ben miles does on youtube. post stories about black people that genuinely did something and people's lives got better because of it
and before any of you fucks flood our inbox with stuff like "you're transphobic/racist/misogynistic/something else" (we are. everyone has biases. we're racist and we know it and are actively trying to rectify it) or "but what about the situation in gaza/ukraine/iran/us/whatever the fuck?" and i agree yes those are genuine problems but have you read this fucking post?
