Just a personal comic.

I was jealous of seeing people younger than me more successful in one way or another, because it made me feel like a failure. Maybe skill, maybe fame, maybe just better at maintaining childhood friends. That last one really stings for me- I don’t keep in contact with anybody from my childhood, and it hurts me to know that some people managed to do that, but I’ll never get that.

But I had an epiphany today: every time I beat myself up for that, or ask myself why I couldn’t do that when I was someone else’s age, I was beating up the poor kid version of me that was barely able to get by.

I don’t want to be mean to her anymore.

I really enjoyed this interpretation of tomtord- it’s very often we see tom just as a hopeless romantic and tord just doesn’t give a shit, so it’s really refreshing to see that obsession coming from Tord instead.

It seems that tord really had a strong connection with Tom in childhood and can’t see that they’ve grown up, and that tom had grown apart from him for whatever reason.

Beautiful work, crumb/cuptoast, whatever you go by.
