Keep your standards high and be picky with who you invest your time in.

A person with an abusive nature will always register you standing up for yourself as an act of betrayal. Betray them.

This is so important. As a good person, you may choose to stick around to prove to someone that you’re not a bad person. You have nothing to prove to a bad person. You cannot help everyone. You cannot fix everyone. It’s not your fault.

methinks….people underestimate how makeup is an actual real psychological trauma and im not being hyperbolic. being incapable of seeing your bare face in the mirror w/o being shook to your core and spiralling into a chain of negative emotions that ruins the rest of ur day? viscerally fearing being observed w/o makeup so much it informs how and when and IF you dare to move in public spaces? how many women fear intimate relationships bc they cant stomach the thought of someone seeing them w/o makeup? being so alienated from your own body that either exposing it or being exposed to it renders u depressed disturbed and disgusted sounds like textbook trauma responses to me

this post shot me in the stomach with a sawed off shotgun.

maybe controversial addition but same goes for not being able to take photos of yourself without filters, Instagram and snapchat and even tiktok I think their filters automatically make your face slimmer, smoother. they make my nose smaller, my eyes bigger - and so many people become so used to that ‘ideal’ version of them they can’t stand photos of their actual face

access to me is very limited these days. protecting my peace is my main priority.
