Very Nice 1.2 0-100 9.5 sec !

I'm still so new to medicine, but I think I may have figured out that it's not seeing blood and gore in emergency medicine that can get to a person. I believe anybody can build up a tolerance to that stuff.

For example, last week a guy comes in with his amputated index finger in a plastic bag. A dog bit it off. His wife handed me her phone and asked me to take photos of the bloody stump. I did. They were such a cool couple, too, and they were so happy-go-lucky about this terrible life event. 20 years ago, the exactly same thing happened to his other index finger. We were laughing and giggling about the absurdity of it all. It was FUN. I had FUN taking those photos, helping clean the wound, chatting with them about it, ect. Fun, fun, fun.

What's much worse is encountering people who don't want to die, but don't neccessarily want to live either. about a month ago, I was in a room with a 92 year old patient. I walked past the foot of her bed and I accidentally brushed past her foot. I knocked her slipper off of her foot. It revealed long gnarled curled toenails (about four inches long). She immediately broke out into a fit of hysterical sobbing. She was distraught.
