— PLASTIC LOVE .
hello, work husband!
She was sweating through her shirt, though the air was chill enough that she knew it wasn't the cause—no, it was the man strolling by her side, his fingers entwined with hers, that made her nervous system the wreck that it is. Tanya was never a romantic person. She never squealed over cute boys like other girls her age did, never snuck kisses during dusktime or ran across shorelines when the weather turned warm. She was perfectly content being by herself, thanks! But that didn't make the prospect of pretending to be a couple any less intimidating—it seemed only to add to it, in fact.
She glanced towards Deimne. Her supposed boyfriend. Just thinking of those words made her itch. But she tried to stay professional. They were both here to investigate a secret shop, which Tanya knew existed in Thracia to some capacity, but the one here in Fodlan had a ridiculous premise: couples only. Unless you had a membership card which, of course, neither of them had.
So here they were. Marching hand-in-hand toward a non-descript building by the edge of town. This should be it… Tanya took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
"Hi, we heard there's a promo for couples here?"
The door cracked open. A single blue eye peered at them from the darkness, going up and down and all around before disappearing back into the depths. A low voice rasped out.
"Sorry, but it's gotta be romantic couples. You two are brothers, aren't ya?"
"B-Brothers?!" Her eyes widened. The urge to rip the door from its hinges and sock the man behind it was severe, but Tanya managed to quell it. What she could not subdue, however, was her temper. Face red, she yelled into the opening
"I'm a girl! And this is my b-boyfriend, you dolt! Could it not be more obvious that we're dating?"
She whipped her head toward Deimne, teeth clenched and voice forced into a whisper. "Come on, do something romantic!"
@secularch
It's just another mission, he told himself. With the church’s focus turned to a secret shop that had just appeared seemingly out of nowhere, and with a special scheme accepting only a card to enter, Deimne otherwise had little interest. Matters of the elite didn’t much matter to him, not back home, not here. And yet, just like back home, he had found himself entangled only somewhat against his will.
Literally. His hand was interlaced with his key to entry. For some reason, the lone exception to the special card was a special someone. Why? He didn’t know, but he wasn’t keen on missing something like this, that he did know. So, if only for today, he had a “girlfriend”: Tanya.
He stood back as she knocked to enter, only to be rejected by—brothers?! It was halfway funny, and it took a great effort on Deimne's part to stifle the snicker against her rage, though he couldn't help the smile forming on his face.
"Oh come on, you do kinda look like a guy…” he muttered under his breath, before clearing his throat. “But yeah, no, we’ve been dating for… a while now? And yeah, we love each other. And stuff."
Shoot, he was going to blow it.
Unless…
He took his free hand, reaching under his shirt and pulling out a necklace. A token of strength back then, and hopefully their key in now. “When we first started, you know, dating, she gave me this. This necklace. It gives me a lotta strength, and it’s a token of our love that I’ll keep safe.” He glanced over to Tanya. “Isn’t that right, er, darling?”
He turned away. Brown eyes stared into the void, waiting for the blue eye’s response.

TOA Infamous - Axe +1
Eirika catches his name just before he sprints off. She follows shortly after, running as swiftly as her legs will carry her. It feels demeaning, forced into a situation such as this, playing to someone's whims, but right now she sees little choice in the matter.
The path before them is narrow yet straightforward, a small blessing, but as they start running she can see the pool of acid grow bigger. It stretches further than she'd like and she wonders how easily they will be able to clear it. Or worse, if the bomb drops in it.
"Should we jump across one at a time?" She keeps her pace steady with his, never once faltering even as her gaze remains wary of their surroundings. "We can toss the bomb over it rather than hold it. Unless... if you feel...confident clearing it while holding it." Her only pauses comes as she catches her breath between words.
The acid fast approaching against their steady pace, the bomb in his hands still unfamiliar, Deimne considers Eirika’s words. He’s seen horses leap before to clear obstacles, but never with a bomb so close by. He hesitates for a second against her. In truth, he didn’t want to hold the bomb, especially over the acid, but he didn’t wish to force someone else into his place.
“I’ll hold it.” Before Deimne can take it back, the words had been said.
relationship charting
⤷ ethereal ball 2026: cont. from here. ( first half )
So Deimne saw it as a matter of circumstance. Two people in the same place at the same time but nothing more. Compared to those Leif himself had grown up with, Deimne seemed much more aware of and conscious of politics, but there's a thing Leif remembers his cousin saying all of a sudden...
'All of Jugdral sees me as far greater than I've ever felt.'
Was this... part of it? What made Seliph say those words?
“I understand. I see Lord Seliph that way too... but...” Leif starts, before he hesitates anew. Was Seliph's confession Leif's to tell? Was Seliph conscious of class divides when he uttered those words to Leif all those moons ago?
Leif could pull an attempt for him, but he would be lying if he behaved as if he didn't fully resonate with Deimne's final claim. So Leif in the end doesn't let that seed grow. He switches to something else, something easier for the him in this moment to latch onto.
“...regardless of status, you two did have that place next to him. With a background like that, that means you're closer to him than me or anyone else, doesn't it, Deimne??” It's easier to strike logic head-on than to introduce a different concept Leif barely began to understand. He speaks his own mind then, his own impressions, rather than any half-formed speculation. “If it's really not just because he's a noble and there's something else, I won't push it. But it's strange to think of Lord Seliph as friendless... Looking back during the war, I can't think of anyone besides your group that seemed closer to him.”
Deimne stood in the moment, letting Lord Leif’s words sink into him. What would a nobleman know about their bond, especially one who was never present (or perhaps was, and he never cared to take a closer look). The knowledge of what Lord Seliph represented and the safety of Tirnanog that his family settled in playing against each other, even before he knew exactly what was going on with a war he could never see himself participating in, or being a member of. And yet, there he was in the moment, and here he is recounting it.
But one simple phrase stuck out from Lord Leif.
That “something else”.
Because as much as Deimne could rack his mind, there was nothing he could say against Lord Seliph other than his genealogy being unlike anything he had known back in the city. And even then, that wasn’t his fault. It was just how he was. In truth, he knew he was a kind man and a great leader, but there were no flaws with his person that came to mind. As much as he disliked Muirne’s fondness of his Lord, he wouldn’t feel frightened or worried if she was alone with him. At least, not from anything Lord Seliph could do.
“Really, huh? Perhaps…” his musings were interrupted by the music starting up again. A shock back to the dancefloor, away from the longing for home and to somewhere both so new and yet so inviting. Deimne offered his hand, it was his turn after all, and a small step had to count for something. “Perhaps we could have another dance, my lord?”
Wanted Plots: July 2026
I want to place priority on my current threads since there’s a few I need to chase up, but as Deimne is Unaffiliated, I’m fine with throwing him into stuff for others ^^
I am, however, interested in the Authority +1 Prompt, as Deimne as a character struggles with his own self-worth in this sort of regard. He’s pretty comfortable regarding himself as the lowest rung of the ladder, so receiving preferential treatment with a ticket is… a discomfort, to put it lightly. We could spin this comedically (two characters who believe the other is more deserving, or a contrast of muse personalities) or for more dramatic, character-building purposes (whether for your muse or mine).
The other prompts I would like to follow can be found here.

Taste Test Take Two
TOA Herald
"I'm fine, I'm fine." She waves the concerns off like water off a duck's back. "Busy night, but nothing that's gunna keep me down, that's for sure." In fact, she had been impressed with how well she had handled it. The creeping worry caused by being around so many people had stayed just that; a creeping worry, and not an all consuming one.
Plus, now she got all the food she could want at her disposal. She might not be much of a gourmet, but only a dummy would turn down a free meal when it's offered. Many starving nights had solidified that in her heart more than anything.
She gestures vaguely towards the tables. "Oh, I haven't actually gotten to try much myself yet. Just got here and all. I was actually..." She pauses for a moment to clear her throat. "I was actually just trying this one here." She gestures to the pie in question. "It's not bad, I don't think, but..." She makes another attempt at clearing her throat, then turns her head to cough over her shoulder. "But I think it's got kind of a kick to it."
“Well, that’s good to hear,” he nods back. The party did wear on a little too long for his liking, and Deimne didn’t much fancy the notion of staying up until dawn again, but to hear he hadn’t accidentally caused serious concern was relieving, putting it mildly. And it was fairly fun to boot. Maybe he could get properly settled here one day.
Deimne takes a plate from a stack, unsure of where to turn to first. Each dish seemed lovely, and the pie Yunaka had just pointed to was sitting very pretty upon its lonesome. Strange why it wasn’t with the rest of the food, but it did look tasty. He reached over to grab a piece, curious about the flavour-
A cough quickly dismisses his thoughts. “Hm?” Deimne’s attention turns back to Yunaka, hesitantly reining his hand back in. “What? What sort of kick?” Because whatever it was, it didn’t sound like just a kick…
instructions unclear I ate all the weeds
The morning after the Ethereal Ball, a message via messenger owl finds you. It comes unmarked, no indicator of who the sender might possibly be, and when you open the letter, it reads: “I have a compromising video of what you did last night. Meet me at the Amiibo Gazebo after the sun sets today or else.” Do you dare?
“Ghack—!“ Selkie sputters against the weird paper that comes out of nowhere with seemingly the sole purpose of smacking her in the face, stumbling backwards as she swipes at it with both hands like a cat against string. If the string was thrown at their face without warning and against their will when they were just trying to take a nice walk outside, that is. The charm-tassel on the side of her ear clings against itself like a bell as the kitsune gives her head a vigorous shake when blind swatting fails her, finally forcing the weird paper off her face just enough to watch it float down from the air in front of her instead — right into her open and awaiting hands for a proper inspection.
…Hm. Now that it’s not completely blocking her vision of everything, she can see it’s got a bunch of those funny black lines on it. The weird ones that never make any kind of comprehensive picture, but humans always seem to love staring at anyway. But she doesn’t see any humans around that it could’ve come from… Doesn’t smell like anyone she knows, either. Actually, it kinda smells like—
Selkie sneezes into the air as white feather floats down from above to land right in the dead center of her nose where the paper once was, because apparently today is ‘hit the Selkie in the face’ day for mysterious sky objects. Rude.
“Hey, what gives?!” Selkie pouts angrily, ears flattened down on her head as she tilts her head up to glare at her assaulting
OWL. ITS AN OWL. THERES AN OWL. BIRD BIRD BIRD BIRD BIRD—
The owl takes off with a hoot, but it’s already too late — Selkie follows suit in a full speed sprint, dodging and weaving through the academy grounds despite the numerous stares of other students she doesn’t care to notice. Because really, what’re a few stares in the face of a fresh and tasty birdie right within her claws grasp?! She’s just gotta get a liiittle closer, then she’s just gotta leap up into the air andddd…
…She misses entirely, crashing face first into a stranger’s back with a force that sends her sprawling onto the ground in front of a fancy-looking gazebo, and the paper that started this whole mess flying out of the spot where she’d tucked it beneath her arm. Similarly to how her tail now tucks between her legs as she clutches her (totally fine physically, but wounded in pride) head. “Owwww, ow ow ow ow owww….”
@secularch
There was others. There has to be! There must be others who were daft enough to try and eat the flowers last night, and he knew it. Despite the hectic buzz of the Monestary and its grounds, both recovering from the night before and excitement for the upcoming events, it did little to dislodge the blooming thought from Deimne’s mind. There had to be others… right? Surely, surely he couldn’t be the only one who tried it. He just needed to prove it. Somehow.
As the owls swooped down for their daily pick-ups, an idea sparkling within his mind. He grabbed a piece of paper and, in the most elegant and disguising handwriting he could attempt, scribbled a message asking to meet in the garden’s gazebo. He folded it once, twice, and handed it to a lonely unbusy owl, asking it to “find whoever was at the ball last night, eating flowers”, with a hoot confirming the intent. Deimne’s eyes followed the magestic bird as it swooped high into the sky, before immediately cursing himself.
The handwriting was completely illegible.
But it’s too late to go back. The sunk-cost fallicy taking ahold of him, Deimne headed through the grounds towards the Amiibo Gazebo, taking a seat at one of the nearby chairs. Waiting. Watching staff and students pass by, some giving him a nod, others ignoring him to busy themselves in books or chatting about the night before. He watches the owls fly back through the hall, following their arc like arrows as they head towards the horizon line, ready to return tomorrow with more mail. He stands up, craning his neck in vain to get a better look, taking an step to the side not looking where he was headed-
-as someone crashes into him, sending him stumbling to the ground with a grunt, a letter landing not too far away (his letter? Was this one of them?). He stood up, brushing the dirt off as he turns to find the one responsible. Some kind of fox girl? crumpled in a heap on the ground. The shock washes over quickly, as he kneels down next to her. “You okay? Hurt? Need a hand up?”
Preparation due Soiree
Camilla set the large box of decorations down on the table with a small "oof." She should have made someone else get it, but after people coming up to her with questions all day she just needed a moment to herself.
That moment is interrupted by a stranger approaching, offering help. He looked very plain, an every man really. Like she had seen him a million times. She had never seen this man in her life.
"Oh thank you! Are you a new staff member? Or are you a student that just hasn't gotten their uniform yet?" She smiles pleasantly. She wants so desperately to believe this man means well, but old habits die hard.
“Uh…” The sound leaves Deimne’s mouth, hanging limp in the air. Was he really that youthful-looking, enough to be a student? Or that mature, to be a teacher? Or were the teachers and students barely distinct in age from one another? Another part of this school he wouldn't likely be privy to...
He blinked, jolted back from his thoughts to reality, the pause growing in awkwardness by the second. “Oh, no. No, I’m not… either. I’m actually from the town, here to keep people safe. Serve the people here. And if that includes decoration-” Deimne shrugs “-then that’s what I’m here to do.”
He offers the lady a hand to shake, giving her a half-smile not quite matching her own. “Deimne.”
Taste Test Take Two
TOA Herald
Woah, what a spread! The cooks were really going all out for this so-called foodie. Yunaka might not be the sharpest tool in a chef's toolkit, but she could tell these meals were way above the standard fare that they'd serve out to people on a regular day.
For what she'd understood, the chefs were having the foods taste tested by multiple sets of people, wanting to be absolutely sure that their best works were presented. Seemed kinda over the top for just one person, but it figured that the monastery would be just as eager to please the nobles as anybody else.
"Hmm...let's see..." There's a pie sitting just a little bit away from everything else. The other chefs had made multiple dishes and gathered them all together, but this one looked to be the only thing that whoever made it was willing to claim. She picks up one of the nearby forks and takes a little tiny piece of the pie. It doesn't look bad or anything...after a moment of consideration, she pops it into her mouth.
...huh.
Her thoughts are interrupted by someone calling out to her. Yunaka flinches in surprise and, in doing so, swallows the bite she had in her mouth. It takes a moment of coughing and hacking for her to recover before she's able to spin around with a bright smile. "Hey! Deimne, right? Fancy meeting you here. How ya been?"
"Yeah, it's me. Deimne. I've been pretty good, all things considered." Baile's Spring Festival had taken its toll on the town's daily life, and everyone had agreed to play their part in seeing it come through. Even Deimne, usually more content on watching from the side and being pushed into things by a friend, had joined in with no complaints. It wouldn't be easy, with everything mounting up, but they were all handling the challenging demands fairly well. Anything to stave off boredom, he had heard the other townsfolk say.
And in the lazy aftermath of the ball, soaking up the last dregs of that evening here with Yunaka, a final farewell to that night. His own bouquet was pressed and preserved in a safe spot, that half-eaten orchid the last trace of their strange bond.
"I hope you've been keeping well," he says, slipping into place next to her. At least to Deimne, Yunaka didn't seem any worse off than when he last saw her, spluttering working against the smile she wore that dissuaded the worst of his worries, but it still felt right to touch base after what had happened that night. More students eating flowers and all... were they bad examples?
Probably.
Focusing on the right foods to eat, the display caught Deimne's attention, his eyes darting between each dish with ravenous curiosity. He settled back on Yunaka. "So, anything here you particularly recommend?"

Deimne and Friendship - June 2026 Meta/Headcanons
Started writing this during ball partially because of the thread between Leif and Deimne, but also because I have additional thoughts. There are some mild spoilers in here for FE4, as well as some ship talk (including one that involves cousins), so feel free to skip. All translations can be found on the NIWA Fire Emblem Wiki.
Nurtured Nature
TOA Herald - Bow +1
thwack
The head of an arrow embedded itself into the side of an elk, as it collapsed onto the forest floor. Deimne waited for a second, and another, before carefully approaching the deer in case it wasn't quite dead. Careful to control his breathing, no sudden movements in his body, he yanked the arrow back out of the still warm body, wiping the head clean and placing it back into his quiver.
Deimne hauled the body up, staggering against the weight. Any bigger, and he'd have trouble moving it on his own. Any smaller, and he'd hesitate to release the arrow in the first place. Younger deers would likely still have time to breed, and the warnings still rang fresh in his mind - "Do not overhunt, or we won't have enough food for next year". It was a fine task, balancing the needs of the masses and the needs of the environment, one that he wasn't familiar with. Back in Isaach, he'd have little qualms with slinging arrows wherever he wanted. Here? It was different. There was a lot more tension with each interaction, to the point where something as relaxing as hunting shouldn't be this stressful. But, in his own way, Deimne felt his worries decompress with each arrow flung.
Finally, the elk was loaded into a wagon, two other deer already there, each awaiting transport back to the coast and to Baile. The physical weight off his shoulders, Deimne leaned back, plucking at his bow string. Continuing onwards would likely require some outside assistance, the other elk he had seen were more burly and unable to be carried back by just one person.
Swallowing pride down, he tapped on the shoulders of one of the other hunters. A stranger, yet her face seemed familiar… Deimne shrugged it off, there were a lot of familiar people around these parts. He motioned to his bow, then to the woods. "There's some good stuff out here, but they're too big for one person to handle. If you wouldn't mind, do you want to join me?"

Taste Test Take Two
TOA Herald
Word gets out that the mayor of Baile’s daughter is an infamous foodie. Though the town hasn’t put in an order for her sake, various cooks in the monastery get fired up with the hope of creating a dish that will satisfy her. Informal competition between all these chefs sparks to life, each using the festival as an excuse to prove themselves the best cook in all of Garreg Mach. However, when you go to taste test for one of these chefs, you taste something horrifically wrong and your body starts to go numb. For reasons unknown, you’ve been poisoned.
The Ethereal Ball was both too distant a memory to properly remember everything and too close an occassion for anything else to get through Deimne's mind, but the flow of time remained ever flowing. It was a new day, and the town was abuzz with news of a far-flung land and a young girl with one desire - food, and apparently a lot of it.
Walking into the food hall of Garreg Mach, Deimne's senses were flooded with the aroma of fresh, warm meals and the sights of gorgeous plates almost too pretty to eat. No effort spared from anything, in great contrast to the plain popcorn that was served and consumed there and the flowers.
He didn't need to try anything like that again, but just thinking it conjured up the bitter taste, the image of a half-eaten orchid and a new aquaintence formed… Despite the circumstances, he wouldn't take that last part away for the world.
And as if luck were on his side, here she was once again, a shock of red-pink hair he could never forget. "Oh, hey Yunaka." Deimne gave her a wave and a smile. She should recognise him, right? It hadn't been that long, and he doesn't look too different… "How've you been holdin' up?"
@dcggersedge
Wanted Plots: June 2026
Happy Pride Month! Here's what Deimne is keen to explore this time. As an unaffiliated mercenary in Garreg Mach Town and primed after a pretty decent ball (and mun is not very busy this month), he can take on any tasks anyone is willing to throw his way.
Mission Board:
Bow +1. Pure, simple hunting. It's easy to get relaxed in an environment where you know what you're doing, ad if you need to decompress after the stressful ball season, Deimne's willing to lend you an ear. Alternatively, if you're the devious type and willing to fudge the numbers, Deimne is here to be the voice of "but why though?". Taken
Non-Mission Board:
Amiibo gazebo, specifically for any other flower eaters. For those not in the know, Deimne ended up eating a flower at the Ethereal ball, and he is looking to connect with any who did similar (I know you're out there :eyes:). Whether he's reaching out or not, I don't mind, I can play it both ways. Taken
CAT CAFE!!! I love cats, I want Deimne to love cats, I want our muses to hang out in a cafe full of cats, I want them to love cats.
In addition, I am fully available to plot anything on the mission board if you want!
Activity Check and Housekeeping - May 2026
You look at the bouquet in hand. It's a bit rough around the edges, despite others reaching out to help neaten everything out. Perhaps it's the one half-chewed flower tucked right at the back that ruins the otherwise pretty good display. But it's certainly not an award-winning bouquet. Someone presses it down to commemorate the night, and with a smile says "You can do better next year, I know you can."
In spite, you feel proud in the now. It's the first right steps, and after tonight you can call others a friend. Perhaps, you can carry forth and bloom, just like a bouquet.
But for now, you are exhausted. You dip from the celebrations as warm sunlight pierces through the horizon line, heading back to your keep. You are ready to sleep for at least a day, perhaps more.

[ SQUIRM ] "...Does anyone notice that the board is always landing on red?" Bruno frowns, tilting his head toward a nearby onlooker. "I've never seen a person turn into a straight line."
Huh, so it has…
If there were two separate boards, then maybe there would be foul play at hand, but the body parts and colored sections were on the same spinner. Deimne hummed, not wanting to spin it and get roped into a game he’d no hope of winning. Especially if it landed red again.
“Maybe everyone is getting unlucky?” It’s not a good explanation, but it’s the only thing he can think of at this moment in time.
"Why? Do you think it's something else?"
[ WATER ] - The liquid of life, the quencher of thirst. Served in crystalline glasses. And what’s more dramatic than throwing water at someone’s face!
“i, uh... i-i really like your clover pin,” bernadetta finally finds the courage to mutter, and if he hasn't heard her, it's perfectly fine—she only hurries the glass of water to her lips in case he hasn't, so she isn't left standing there awkwardly, and never mind if she nearly chokes on the first sip.
Deimne’s ear prick up. “Oh, uh, thanks.” It was an impulse buy at the stand, but it goes nicely with his necklace. He fiddles with it, before looking over at her. “I like the flowers on your dress.”
He watches her lift the glass, and drinks from his own cup. It’s just water. By this point, he would’ve thought someone would’ve messed with it, like adding glitter or fire to it, but it’s just water. It’s refreshing.
“Nice water we’re having,” Deimne says, trying to fill the air between them. But he wouldn’t mind if they just drink in silence.
