Deimne’s ear prick up. “Oh, uh, thanks.” It was an impulse buy at the stand, but it goes nicely with his necklace. He fiddles with it, before looking over at her. “I like the flowers on your dress.”
He watches her lift the glass, and drinks from his own cup. It’s just water. By this point, he would’ve thought someone would’ve messed with it, like adding glitter or fire to it, but it’s just water. It’s refreshing.
“Nice water we’re having,” Deimne says, trying to fill the air between them. But he wouldn’t mind if they just drink in silence.

tldr; she is painfully introverted. she's really docile and meek but can bite when cornered. she also has an insane tendency to get critical hits and follow-up attacks, so really good aim and dexterity. main hobby is hiding in her room, eating cake painting.

she’s pretty, she’s accurate, she’s light weight, and she’s select fire for those all important follow-up attacks. She doesn’t have a bayonet lug but full auto 9 by 39 is plenty of bite.

I love how Lavender Mint inspired two different pairings into me that are as far away from each other as possible (which to be clear, won't feature in the actual fic):
Bernie/Flayn: Super cute. Bernie is the first genuine friend Flayn as had in forever and gets really passionate when talking about something that interests her, while Bernie feels really safe and understood by her. They both find immense comfort with each other and want nothing but the best for each other
Bernie/Kronya: Peak toxic yuri. Kronya becoming obsessed with this one girl she can't manage to kill because she's as resilient as a cockroach. Kronya feels a mix of disgust and attraction towards filthy subhuman Bernie while Bernie is just left traumatized by her.

It's Complicated
Bernadetta and Rinea are some of my favorite FE characters but in a really weird way that yes, I love them but I also agree with pretty much every criticism levied at them.
Yes, Rinea is as satellite a character as one can possibly be and literally only exists to humanize Berkut and show his fall from grace.
Yes, Bernadetta is a joke character and moe bait that is kinda repetitive in her gimmick, has a backstory that clashes pretty bad with how she's treated by everyone and is mainly there to be "saved" by the player character and everything about her feels like a mockery of people struggling with anxiety like, well, myself.
But despite everything, I don't hate them. I love them, in fact! But I guess, in a way that doesn't feel coherent to their canon selves.
I like exploring Rinea as her own person that's struggling with being overly passive and knowing what she actually wants because of her upbringing, and with Bernadetta I'm writing my longest fic ever about her but there are so many little changes dedicated to treating her and her struggles with the respect they deserve that I always felt LM!Bernie is... kind of an alternate take on her character?
Yes, I feel that's an accurate description. I love Bernadetta and Rinea a lot, but... in a way I feel I'm much more in love with the idea of them more than their actual characters.
