While it has only recently made its way from Ast to Fódlanese soil, it has quickly gained popularity in local dance classes as the ultimate test of faith in a pair.
Dancing blind is different from dancing in the dark.
For all his expertise, he realizes that he relies on his vision more than otherwise expected. Expressions and the subtle shift of limbs that tell him how to lead, how to respond, reading his partner as if they were something sacred- a vital piece to a successful partnership.
"Oh." He breathes, hands placed a little off-center on her waist when she returns to him. The silken tether that the instructor wrapped around their wrists is looped around them, holding them close in a gentle vice. It's supposed to be like that, they assured, let it unwind and then begin again.
And again. Seadall laughs through it, amusement evident only in the richness of his baritone when he inevitably shifts too suddenly and tangles them again. He hasn't felt like a student in a long time! "Yunaka?" He says, after they've gotten the hang of it, when the instructor moves on to a couple that ran into another, causing a scene.
He knows she's there, naturally. Can feel the familiarity in her steps, even if he's forced to realize new aspects. She's small, even if he's never thought her to be - dainty shoulders and a slim waist and the sharp staccato of her heels that still leave a noticeable disparity in their height. Such that when the stumbling group next to them inevitably slams full force into his side, he gasps, too twisted in the tether between them and too blind to keep from falling directly on top of her. ...! Are you alright?" Reaching up, he tears the blindfold away and rolls away.
Feel like i should post this here as well, but the more i think about Yunaka being a squirrel in shadows, the more im liking it! Even tho a fox might have been the more obvious choice, i really like how her being a squirrel reflects who she WANTS to be instead of who she was made to be in the past. Which is something she desperately wants to move on from after all and fox Yunaka would have reflected that past.
So Squirrel Yunaka reflecting who she wants to be is just very sweet.
Someone that makes you laugh, someone that is approachable, someone that drives you a bit nuts lol.
A silly squirrel is perfect🐿️~
