the concept of vocaloid fans being so insanely racist towards one of the most exciting up and coming underground rappers that the very talented producer behind fujo miku and mikumiku beam revealed that he’s black
Referring to the distinction between those who are and aren’t affected by transmisogyny as “arbitrarily constructed gender categories” tells me exactly which of the two you fall into lmao
The application of TME/TMA terminology stops making sense once you take intersectionality into account. Dark-skinned women, particularly dark-skinned black women, are victims of masculinization and often experience this because the concepts of womanhood and femininity (at least in western societies) are almost always measured by eurocentric standards, colorism, and a general proximity to whiteness. Violent transmisogynists shoot first, ask questions never.
Michelle Dionne Peacock was a 59-year-old black woman who, by our communities’ definition, would’ve been transmisogyny-exempt on account of being a cisgender woman. However, she was killed on account of Tommy Wayne Earl’s misogynoir AND transmisogyny, even going so far as to refer to her as a “male acting like a woman” when questioned on the murder. Earl had no grounds for his accusations apart from Peacock’s appearance which, last time I checked, doesn’t indicate anything save her blackness. Considering Earl also had to be separated from black inmates due to “not getting along with them”, I think it’s warranted to assume his transmisogynistic motive is equally rooted in misogynoirist behaviors/mindsets that masculinize black women. In other words: he’s just as much of a violent racist as he is a violent transmisogynist, and whether or not Peacock was actually a transgender woman meant nothing to him. Only his ideology mattered, therefore that was the only “truth” he recognized. Most transphobes are like this.
Caster Semenya and her battle against the International Olympic Committee’s intersexist, transmisogynistic policies is another case I think of, though thankfully it isn’t a fatal one. In 2019, World Athletics (formerly the IAAF) introduced new regulations that forced intersex athletes and other athletes with DSDs like Semenya to take medication that would suppress their testosterone levels. Semenya refused, as was her right to. Ever since, she has been pursuing legal action against these regulations. In tandem with her legal battles, transmisogynoirist and intersexist cultural wars were sparked because of the barring of Caster Semenya. Her being a cis woman in actuality did not stop these culture wars from happening. People only cared about the narratives being fed to them, and again, most transphobes are like this.
Semenya is not the first nor the last cis black woman in the sports industry to be subjected to this treatment. Far from it. Serena Williams is infamously made a target by misogynoirist sports reporters and commentators whose actions against her often skew into transmisogynist territories as well (see: Mark Knight‘s political cartoon for The Herald Sun from September 2018). In that same year, Williams addressed internet conspiracies around her having been “born a man” as well.
Even Michelle Obama has been subjected to transmisogynoirist harassment from American right-wingers who repeatedly make conspiracies and accusations of her “secretly being a man”. Quite recently, UFC fighter Josh Hokit peddled this exact rhetoric on the South Lawn of the White House. Emboldened by the likes of Joe Rogan and in the shadow of the Trump Administration, no doubt.
On a less public level, I was shared a video by a black co-worker that applies to this; said video was of a black woman being harassed in a women’s restroom. As she’s filming, an older white woman comes around the corner and insists that she is in the women’s restroom, implying that the woman recording shouldn’t be there. She tries to ignore the old lady at first, but ultimately (and rightfully) tells her to leave her alone. Only for that same woman to claim she’s “mean” for doing so, as if she didn’t spend most of her time harassing this woman.
Admittedly, I used to sympathize with people’s reasons for using TME/TMA terminology in communal spaces. I felt obligated to use it since it was the least I could do for my peers. In retrospect, this terminology is flawed. People regard it as another version for AGAB terminology (which cannot be stressed enough that it was appropriated from intersex spaces in the first place), but it’s deeper than that.
I am not a woman, but your average person is going to assume I am a black woman. They have the potential to exercise the same violent misogynoirist, or even transmisogynoirist, mindset against me as Tommy Wayne Earl had against Michelle Dionne Peacock. My experiences aren’t like that of an actual black trans woman, nor was it for Michelle, but that doesn’t change the fact that our societies don’t care about distinction. Our societies can and will operate on its own optics regardless of who we are, and once they perceive us one way, they aren’t going to stop and check if that’s actually true or applies to their beliefs. If American white supremacists can still peddle “Michelle Obama is a man!” conspiracies in 2026 and with confidence, what makes you think our societies as a whole will suddenly start caring about who does or doesn’t apply to their systems of oppression?
Not only does this terminology overlook the nuances of sex and how it is experienced among people, but it also overlooks nuances like the racialization of gender and sex, especially when those nuances CAN and HAVE led to the discrimination of people like Michelle Dionne Peacock, Caster Semenya, Serena Williams, Michelle Obama, that woman getting dressed, and many, many more.
You cannot separate these cases of racist, misogynoirist discrimination and violence from the transmisogynistic rhetoric therein. You simply can’t. It’s all connected. The notion that any of these women are men relies on our societies’ fearmongering around black people and transgender people alike as well as how they dehumanize us. Worst of all, we see the fallout of that constantly in our communities, seeing how black trans people— especially black trans women— hold the highest statistics of being hate-crimed out of any other transgender demographic.
The more I looked into these cases, the more I stopped referring to myself as “TME”. If we can acknowledge that transphobia is capable of affecting cisgender people, then how is it any different from acknowledging that our societies’ weaponization of gender and sex can’t be binarized by something like TME or TMA? Cisgender black women— be them perisex or intersex— most certainly are affected by transmisogyny, given the many ways misogynoirist and transmisogynistic ideologies intersect. Those circumstances alone show why TME/TMA distinctions ARE arbitrary.
today I saw someone pushing the idea that Maria in the movie adaptation is better because she's not terminally ill so she's like a "normal girl" which makes her death more "tragic" and this was on reddit and it got 12k upvotes without a single mention of how ableist that is
and i'd call this a "common reddit L" if not for the fact that I've also seen this idea pushed on Tumblr too. And it makes me wanna KILL SOMEONE! TELLING ON YOURSELF, TRULY, ABOUT WHO YOU DO AND DON'T VALUE IN THE WORLD! that movie and its fans make me foam at the fucking mouth, man.
not thinking of those who struggle to live to the fullest as being as human as themselves, who apparently "deserve" to do so, rather than considering how "tragic" it must feel to know you likely never will as everyone looks down on you (some real high-grade nazi shit)
fans of the sonic movies trying as hard as they can in their extreme, gleeful media illteracy to make the games' storytelling worse again because they prefer tired offensive jokes and paving over backstories and personalities with copies of other blockbuster movies

“Sometimes when I’m alone, I catch myself picturing a man, but I don’t believe I knew him. It’s probably just a faulty in my programming.” <- some quote I thought of Harry saying in this scenario
I also wanted to make this semi horror originally but didn’t quite plan the idea out enough in my head to further branch on it but below is a version with a tad bit of blood

white people really cant give a shit abt anyone but themselves unless held at gunpoint or smth huh?
“what about the poor little white kids just trying to have fun?” what about the poor little kids of color made to feel unsafe and unwelcome in a space that was supposed to be fun?
“why can’t poc just make their own redesigns and we can keep these ones” why cant you realize that your actions have consequences and that you should maybe try to not enforce racist stereotypes??
like ofc its ideal to have VARIETY among both villains AND protagonists, its when your characters look like this
that the issue arises
scratch “can”, white people are encouraged to reblog

PIXELATED CLOSE UPS!!! I also tried to experiment with reply icons using said close ups
(Gonna reblog and post those because I made two sizes and they won’t fit into this post)
I did make another animation type thing but it has blood and hints of injury so proceed with caution, nothing crazy dw, but warning incase that might make some uncomfortable!!
I honestly at the time making these went “huh, what else could I do besides walk cycles and close ups?” Then just thought “as a battle progresses what if it showed the damage taken” essentially

Had to make my version of Dialtown Jack pixelated though he got an update style wise and phone wise (or downgrade I guess atleast in the posts before all I gave him was a cracked phone, now it’s all fucked up😭)
For his Dialtown counterpart the handcrank incident did still happen (crack on side of head), but ontop of that he rides a motorcycle and Harry has to like, constantly check in these days or sit there like “shit he better not be doing wheelies in a parking lot again.”
Gets a call
“What did you do.”
“I did wheelies in a parking lot and fucked it up, my motorcycle drove into bunny’s, HURRY.”
Steven in the background absolutely tweaking out during closing

I’ve been listening to Love Grows so much lately and it honestly reminds me of Dialtown Harrysport each time I do
So like any sane person I had the idea to incorporate it into spontaneous writing, enjoy the Harrysport crumbs (hopefully, I haven’t written ships in a while but these two are slowly bringing me back into it)
Harry stood by the record player, shuffling through the assortment of tracks he had while humming softly.
“You weren’t kidding when you said you owned a shit ton of those things, huh?”
Jack had walked next to Harry, leaning back against the wall as he eyed the other partially curious.
“Mhm, in-fact I believe I bought more the last time I went out. Jake introduced me to some artists I could potentially be interested in.”
After a few moments, Harry seemed to have found the one he wanted to play, placing it onto the player.
“I believe you’ll enjoy this one, you know I played this quite a bit when I was in the yearning stage.”
Jack couldn’t help but snort softly at the comment, Harry chuckling to himself as he held out his hand.
“So, would you care to join me since you’re here with me now?”
“You really are the cheesiest man I’ve met, come here you idiot.”
Jack took Harry’s hand, who slowly pulled him closer, heads resting against each-other as they swayed to the rhythm.
-Oh, but love grows where my rosemary goes
-And nobody knows like me.
-She talks kind of lazy, and people say she’s crazy
-And her life’s a mystery.
-Oh, but love grows where my rosemary goes
-And nobody knows like me.
They gradually began to spin slowly as they swayed, Harry staring at Jack all the while, who seemed to understand what Harry was thinking.
Jack’s buttons inched closer to Harry’s dial, the distance shortly closing between them.
Harry placed his hand on the side of Jack’s head, pulling away and sighing softly.
“I still can’t believe we’ve been engaged for a year, crazy, hm?”
They both laughed, Jack lightly punching Harry’s arm.
“Fuck yeah it is, thought you’d stop putting up with my ass a few years into working with it.”
Harry shook his head, chuckling softly as he held Jack’s hands in his own.
“I’ll admit, even when we were growing closer you did annoy me quite a bit, but I guess your stupid antics only brought me closer.”
His thumb brushed lightly against Jack’s matching ring, who instantly took Harry’s hand and pressed it to his buttons.
“Beat you to it, Romeo.”
Harry burst into a fit of laughter, tilting his head in amusement as he crossed his arms.
“And you call me an idiot, who knows maybe I wasn’t going to kiss your hand.”
“Then be less predictable, come on you were thinking about it.”
“Less predictable, huh?”
Suddenly, Harry took Jack’s hand, holding it up as he placed his free hand behind Jack’s back, dipping the other.
“I can do that.”
Jack seemed like a mix of flustered and confused, buttons clicking as he awaited the next move.
Then he felt his back hit the floor.
“Oh you fucking asshole..”
With that, Harry had quickly ran into the kitchen, laughing all the while.
Jack moved to stand, grabbing a pillow from the couch and running after the other.
