What’s that? “It’s been reclaimed”? If that’s your argument, then listen carefully:
Reclamation does not absolve the word of its history. “Faggot” is a reclaimed slur. “Dyke” is a reclaimed slur. There are queer people who are still uncomfortable with these terms because of their history and the fact that they are, today, still being used by bigots as slurs. Reclamation does not outweigh that fact.
Another thing about reclamation? Only the people who are the target of a slur are allowed reclaim that slur. Full stop. ‘Femboy’ is a slur used in pornography to fetishize and objectify transfems. Are you transfem? If you aren’t, keep the word out of your fucking mouth.

thinking more on that post its like. im transmasc. I love transmasc headcanons I have a bunch of them that I adore dearly but like I wouldn’t be giving them to a character thats way more transfem coded and especially not one thats just canonically transfem????? like be so fr
Maybe you 🫵 the viewer should look inwards and think about why it is so personally upsetting to you to have your favorite character be a transgender woman
Came across this post by @sillywormz recently and it got me thinking about character archetypes in Look Outside. So I decided to make a list compiling the most notable ones.
(Slightly spoilery)
The two major categories are, obviously, Non-Cursed and Cursed.
Non-Cursed
The Survivor: A normal human being lacking any extreme personality quirk; fairly grounded interpretation of someone trying to survive the apocalypse. (i.e the door trader encounters)
The Weirdo: A normal human being with an extreme or odd personality quirk of some kind. (i.e Papineau, Dan, Xaria and Monty, most of the companions really)
Cursed
The Victim: Someone who was cursed and is grappling with the change/reacting to it in a realistic way. (i.e Audrey, Jeanne, This guy)
The Laid-Back: Someone who was cursed but is really chill about it for some reason. (i.e Emmanuel, Musette, Carlos and Rana)
The Freak: Someone who was cursed and came away with an altered personality to some degree; The cursed variant of The Weirdo. (i.e Leigh, Mutt, Spine)
The Killer Freak: The violent variant of The Freak. (i.e Stargazer, Louis, Elevator Freak)
The Inhuman: Someone who was cursed and completely lost their humanity, both physically and mentally, becoming a violent monster. (i.e Tooth Family, Rat King, Antoine)
The Doomed: Someone who was cursed and suffers a tragic, unadaptable fate of some kind. (i.e Tumor Fred, Charlie)
The Infected: Someone whose curse was either influenced by or is the direct result of another cursed. (i.e Tooth Family, Hand creatures, Edwin’s victims, Sybil’s organs)
The Ascended: Any cursed entity with immense power. (Exalted Four, Hundred Gods, XIN-AMON, Wilhelmina)
These two categories deal almost exclusively with the human characters/NPCs- barring some exceptions. There are, however, a bunch of examples that aren't human and/or otherwise require their own archetype. These include:
The Nonhuman: Any cursed entity that was originally a nonhuman creature or organism. (i.e Roaches, Morton, Spore Mother, Roxie)
The Animate: Any entity that was originally an inanimate object (i.e the other Freds)
The Manifest: Any entity that was originally an idea or concept. (i.e Drowning, Honko)
The Fledgling: Any entity that spawned from or was created by another cursed entity. (i.e Kevin, Phillipe, Toothlings)
The Anomaly: Any entity whose existence is difficult to classify (i.e Spider, Shadow, The Shades)
Ok so lemme get this straight the boys get advertised their body weight in protein powder and girls are told to get by on uncooked foliage and I’m supposed to believe that the observed differences in gender are strictly because of sex chromosomes with no cultural influence at all uh huh sure hey buddy what kind of idiot

black artists, they are trailblazers no matter what anyone's opinion is. within every subculture is a black artist who basically predates all the popular styles and trends and aesthetics. they are hidden or removed from history but yet everyone wants bits of our swag. we make our art accessible and yet nobody gives us our flowers.
remember, if you like a certain trend or thing, especially if it's a music genre or clothing style, there was probably a black person who Kickstarted that whole genre/movement. our existence is defiance, alt, doing things differently and authenticity. people want our art without respecting us. remember that.
it's why as a black furry, the keep politics out the fandom types are so annoying when you remember the concept of having a fursona in modern furry was Kickstarted by a black man (Ken Sample)
black people in every subculture are trailblazers never forget that.
when you remember what happened to the word "woke" you'll never stop being mad. woke originally meant to "stay alert" during antiblack racial injustices that black individuals face and now it got turned into meme shit and it's genuinely infuriating when antiblack systemic oppression is still ongoing across the world.
seeing nonblack leftists use the word ironically without at least knowing the origin of it is blood boiling. I'm tired of black phrases and slang being turned into "memes" it's turning black culture and awareness into a joke.
“We chose the term “asexual” to describe ourselves because both “celibate” and “anti-sexual” have connotations we wished to avoid: the first implies that one has sacrificed sexuality for some higher good, the second that sexuality is degrading or somehow inherently bad. “Asexual”, as we use it, does not mean “without sex” but “relating sexually to no one”. This does not, of course, exclude masturbation but implies that if one has sexual feelings they do not require another person for their expression. Asexuality is, simply, self-contained sexuality.”
— The Asexual Manifesto, Lisa Orlando and Barbara Getz, 1972
It’s 50 years this month since the first version of the Asexual Manifesto was written. Aces have been writing about our experiences under this name for at least half a century. We are not an internet fad.
