This is a recent development for me l was daydrinking/lamenting about Steven getting the gay dumbledore treatment (fuck rowling btw but i digress) & one thing led to another & next thing I know I'm sitting with a gun in my hand because I discovered that the ship had 3 legitimate fics on the 'chive.
To answer your question though!
- Steven and Dave actually fw each other which is funny considering most characters don't fw either of them (the idea that Dave hates all of the phones is a false narrative)
- asshole x asshole if we're talking dsaf 1. soapy ending more like yaoi ending
- Steven is important for Dave's development, his backstory being the first catalyst to Dave realizing the truth about Henry

This is the part where my computer literally started smoking and I called the fire department and they called me a dumb fuck and put me on their blacklist so now if my house burns down they won't come but anyway after hearing Steven's backstory, Dave starts to realize that the narratives aren't matching up. Steven being murdered in cold blood wasn't something he'd previously considered to be characteristic of Henry. They're more important to each other story wise than most people give them credit for

Them being on a first name basis with each other is a trait not even shared by Dave and Jack. Dave and Steven have a lot of history and work experience together so zygarde math says that means that they probably grab each others butts too.
Dave pretty notably bashes the phones for being plastic brained or whatever but in Steven's case he's the exception when it actually matters
Of course there's also the soapy ending I mean there's not too much more to say on that they team up and frame you l made a fire tweet on twitter dot com about this but it got 50 likes which means I'm washed and no one loves me. follow me for more bangers
I guess to conclude I'm just a huge sucker for rarepairs and if I expose myself to the bigger ships too much I get bored really fast and it just so happens that I really like their dynamic and their chemistry has gone largely unaddressed so I'm Addressing It. I haven't had brainworms like this for a dsaf ship in a very long time a lot of my enjoyment really is just me kicking my feet like a schoolgirl without too much of a real reason
