But then it turns out he’s got friends literally everywhere. Camp Half Blood? Friends. Underworld? Friends. Tartarus? Friends. Camp Jupiter? Friends. He had friends at Camp Jupiter before the rest of Camp Half Blood even knew it existed.

We've already addressed the other protocols, but this is critical. This is the entrance to his secret basement. Do not enter the secret doorway or the secret stairway. Yes, we know it's there. But for him, we do not know it is there. He needs it to be a secret. It's our job to ensure he feels his needs are respected, hmmm? Every gentleman has his own private hideaway, his is just more, elaborate that most. Don't acknowledge it, don't clean it and never, never talk about it. I tend to the upkeep of that space, out of respect for him and out of respect for you. There are some things a gentleman needs to keep to just himself, and his butler, of course.

Water is way more hydrating than soda, but soda is more hydrating than nothing. A balanced meal is way more nutritious than ice cream, but ice cream is more nutritious than nothing.

Something is better than nothing. Some hydration is better than no hydration. Some nutrients are better than no nutrients. Some produce is better than no produce.

i’m like “you can totally go downstairs, but just so you know, right now the only thing down there is the genealogy department. that’s like the history of this area and the people who lived here a long time ago.”

i’m expecting them to lose interest, but to my surprise, they go “we want to see the genealogy department!!!!!!”

so i’m like “alright let’s do it!!!!” and lead this group of maybe six elementary school kids across the library make way for ducklings style and downstairs to our extremely not kid friendly genealogy room. our genealogy librarian is super cool, though, and he pulls out a few interesting things for them to look at & they ask a lot of questions and try to find where they live on maps from the 1800s

after about fifteen minutes, their curiosity has been sated, so we go back upstairs and over to the children’s department in that same duckling parade style

It's about kids learning that they can go where they want to go, it's about kids seeing what the world (library) has to offer and expanding the range of options in their minds

Kim Possible and June are getting scooped up by Wonder woman IMMEDIATELY. Girl has that Amazonian energy. Kim goes with it because, why not. June is absolutely hyped by it (also cause she can travel outside her home town).

Ben is getting taken in by the Lanterns, they would also totally give him a lantern ring and with the Omnitrix, he would be a menace.

Star butterfly is getting picked up by Zatanna, not because she wants to train her, but Zatanna is TERRIFIED if she doesnt get involved this girl will accidentally destroy the galaxy.

Generator Rex is chilling with Cyborg and is loving the vibe.

Steven actually ends up getting adopted by Martian Manhunter, J'onn J'onzz could tell the powers of empathy from this kid and he can relate a lot. Plus I think they would be real good for eachother. He also gets some attention from flash cause of the super speed stuff. El Tigre and Jake Long are getting picked up unintentionally by Constantine. El Tigre exploring his morally grey aspects and Jake long learning so MUCH about the magic underworld would be great for both of them.

Ladybug and Cat noir get picked up by Superman, he sees how these two are the symbols of hope for Paris and wants to help them out as best he can, plus he knows what its like with that whole secret identity stuff.

Randy Cunningham gets snatched up by Green arrow, he needs to help teach this boy accuracy, and he is no slouch at using other weapons, which Randy does appreciate, plus that Goatee is honkin bruce!

so the months they spend with the professor are a mix of staying in their little beloved narnian bubble and recording all their memories and sharing stories, and also relearning english.

lucy and edmund are the two that have the hardest time relearning english. lucy, of course, because narnia is branded on her soul. she's aslan's dear one, speaking narnian is like breathing to her. edmund had to read and write countless contracts, letters, and treaties in narnian, so his brain is wired in the language.

all four pevensies have a little bit of a soft accent for the rest of their lives. no one can pinpoint what exactly the accent is, and it makes no sense to those who know them.

after peter and susan leave, and edmund and lucy are left with their aunt and uncle, they actually go back to speaking to one another in narnian almost exclusively, only using english around their aunt, uncle, and eustace. when they go to narnia with eustace, he doesn't start speaking the language until after he transforms back into a boy, then it's like he's spoken it his entire life.

when peter and susan visit with their parents, they walk in on lucy, edmund, and eustace having a debate on one of the old narnian stories about the golden age, and it's actually comforting for the older pevensies to slip into their main language.
