So I have just recently started watching dragon ball (yes I know Iβm very late to the party I apologize π). Iβm currently on episode 30 of the og series. I know thereβs several different sequel series, so Iβve been doing some research to try and figure out how to watch it, but every website says something different. I went to a library book sale this weekend and I found a very old book called βElectronic Life: How to Think About Computers,β which was published in I think 1975? Iβve been reading it kind of like how I would read a historical document, and itβs lowkey fascinating
Thereβs a whole paragraph thatβs like βokay, find the keyboard. Donβt panic if it has more keys than a typewriter, thatβs normal. Really, itβs fine. The extra keys donβt make things harder. Itβs FINEβ
Thought this section was particularly interesting:
Can the computer create something? At first glance it seems obvious that it can. Animated computer graphics, with their fluid transitions and whiplash perspectives, look strikingly new. You can start an automobile engine and it will run by itself, too, but that doesnβt mean itβs being creative. Itβs just running.
Somebody in 1975 had a better understanding of why artificial intelligence is not in any way βintelligenceβ than the majority of todayβs intellectual minds.
