Soundwave is 3rd in Decepticon command the the "communications" officer, aka he spies on literary everyone. He doesn't seem to have any kin nor clan other than his cassettes, and not much is known about him or them. He seems to know what you're thinking, possibly even before you do. He's rather detached, stoic even. It takes a lot to phase him. You don't become 3rd in Decepticon command if you can't handle it.

He looked around the house and found it to be exceedingly empty. When he squinted and examined the walls and listened to the way the roof rattled, it became slowly more apparent that this was an old storage shed turned home, one that couldn’t have been bigger than a large room in its totality. It lacked for decor, or anything ‘home-like’, as if he could be any judge of that. Still, it was a lot better than where he was before. There was a table and chair, wooden and simple, and a clock on the wall that bore the time to him and reminded him of his appointment. Not that he had much to wear besides his stars and prison stripes.

Mr. Thomas looked around the tin can he was housed in as the light of the day shone through the singular window and seams of the shed. He had some time before he had to get going, though there really wasn’t much anything special to explore. Well, except there was a change of clothes. Going out in these zebra stripes would wind him up back into the zoo faster than he could blink. 

Every cabinet was ripped over, every leaf turned over, in a desperate search. Andrew even stuffed himself as much as he could under the cast iron bed frame and stuck his hand out to be his eyes in the darkness. 

Suddenly, there was a shuffle at his shed front, and a hasty knock from about halfway down the door. It was followed by what could only be snickers and laughter in a rather high pitch, too high for any rail worker he had ever known.
