"Soundwave decided there was nothing better than example- then again, he spent enough time in the field that jumping off and into and out of things had to be second nature for his own survival. He lunged forward, curling up to land more evenly into the water with a splash, the ocean starting to obscure and engulf him. Before disappearing completely, he came back up in a bubbling splatter, holding himself at the edge of the water by controlled buoyancy in his empty chest compartment. Flattening it completely would send him deeper in the water, like a swim bladder. He looked up at the mech, wet metal shimmering above the surface, while the rest of his frame below grew dull and blue-green the further it was from the light.

The scientist gazed down at the cassette player, there was a hint of humor in his optic but that didn’t last long when he realized that it was his turn. He took a few steps to the side to create some distance between his expected landing area and Soundwave. Taking no chances with trying to replicate the more graceful mech’s form, Shockwave simply walked off the platform.

His descent was far more rapid than his companion’s and the aftersplash was large enough to send Soundwave away in a frenzy if he wasn’t careful. Though, he did not float upward like Soundwave, for he sank like the 70 ton rock he is."

I'll be real, for me, it's Starscream. He's a great character to drive a plot (because he's crazy), which leads me to have to figure out how he'll react to everything presented to him and what his motivations are. He can either flip out and start a fight or draw back and scheme up how he could twist something to his advantage, which is fun but it has to make SENSE for me too. He's a very smart and cunning person which is short sighted by his negative traits.

Are any of the cassettes adopted or were they all carried by him?

Yes they will be revealed eventually teehee… plural cause he gets around, but has EXTREMELY different anatomy/organ layout

he is a medical anomaly because of the lack of diverse medical research, #truth, BUT blaster functions the same way. They are the same frame type that carries totally different than the average bot, which is why nobody else is having kids except those two, for a multitude of reasons honestly… most notably because everyone considers them extensions of their carrier and not full fledged sparkling that develop into regular bots
