thinking about Cedric from w.i.t.c.h. again...and I just love how (especially in the comics) he's essentially a long-suffering evil employee. He's a delightful rep of the evil advisor-general type tbh; at the end of the day, he tries to get the job done instead of his secretive art nouveau bossituationship, and because he chose to masquerade as a human bookseller, i'd imagine that he has to bear the burden of managing it - utility bills, receipts, donations and all. he probably hung up a sign that says "CASH ONLY" and when somebody wants to actually buy a book, he says some total random price with earth currencies he read about, like "five thalers for the geography atlas and two doubloons for the romance novel". every day he gets emails and he doesn't even know what a computer is.
