i really loved the invite's usage of the habanera; it succesfully highlighted the contrast between the movies rather down to earth plot and the high stakes and pathos of opera seria; it played very nicely into the films relationship to music, pointed to (don jose - joe; carmen - pina) pararells and perhaps in doing so highlighted the ways joe thinks about himself. no other aria could really be referenced in a way that would be recognizable to a wide cinematic audience. that being said. i would love for a movie about a foursome to reference some buffa works like cosi fan tutte! i feel like such a plot is a part of the same theatrical tradition as they are. libertinism is such a prominent influence in the modern opera incredibly limited catalogue and i feel that terribly interesting things could be done by contrasting eighteen century sentiments about sexuality with modern ones, especially in regards to open relationships/polyamory. i'm no musicologist and my ear is not very well conditioned so perhaps there were musical influences in the score i didn't notice... would love for someone to point them out. habanera is so beautiful though...
“There is a moment in the film where [Penélope Cruz] improvised a kiss with me. I was like, ‘Oh, hair in the gate. Do it again!’ I was so shocked when she did it that I actually turned my head and looked directly into the lens and through to my camera operator. He was like, ‘Olivia!’ and I said, ‘Namaste.’ For some reason that was the only thing that came to my mind, ‘namaste.’ And everyone was like, ‘What?’ And I was like, ‘I don't know. My mind went blank.’ My mind went blank because I was so struck by this moment. I lost control. I was so madly in love with her.”

jesus was really just like "are you fucking stupid"
Don't call him dull There are nicer ways to say things, Yes he isn't always the smartest and it leads to antics But he is a Sweet Person with Genuine Intentions
do you think jesus was talking to peter griffin
Yes, I literally assumed this was a Family Guy Script quote. You might know if you watch the show that Jesus is literally a character within the Show.

Someone asked me a while ago if I still had a photo of the worst sink I had ever seen while apartment hunting in Los Angeles. I assumed I deleted it so I didn't answer the ask and now it's gone, but as it turns out, yes, I do still have a photo of it.
Me and my girlfriend did a lil photo shoot in our regalia back in December
Oh we’re engaged now btw 💍
