Well Louie is being having some mental health issues in the last few years, quite tiring for Mae as well.

I propose that Robin and Grover have actually met before outside the Christmas celebration and have developed a personal friendship. I know it might seem random at first, but I actually do have a justification for this... even though I definitely don’t need to rationalize my belief that two Muppet toddlers should be friends.

On early Sesame Street, Grover is often paired with Kermit for sketches, likely due to the natural comedic chemistry between Jim Henson and Frank Oz. In fact, Grover’s first named appearance is alongside Kermit. In this episode that introduces Grover not as a generic monster troublemaker (recall that on early Sesame Street monsters were depicted much less favorably than in later years) but as an early version of his recognizable self, Susan tells the kids when introducing the new monster that “when you see him in the neighborhood, you’d better tell Kermit.” This implies to me that although the kids on the show (along with the audience) don’t know the lovable and furry form of Grover, Kermit already does, meaning he is one of the people that knows Grover better than anyone else. You could even go so far as to say Susan is saying that Kermit is one the primary adults expected to take responsibility for him. The way Grover acts towards Kermit in subsequent appearance also suggests a degree of familiarity with him distinctly different from his relationship with other adult characters. He calls Kermit “Froggy Baby” and greets him with a friendly slap on the back. He frequently assists Kermit in his lectures and often appears at his home to sell him things. He presented Kermit with the Frog of the Year Award as part of the framing device for the Best of Kermit the Frog on Sesame Street compilation. He’s even gone so far as to call Kermit his best friend on the street! All of this to say Kermit and Grover’s relationship is very well established, so I don’t want to rule out the possibility that Muppet Family Christmas was referencing this by connecting him to his nephew Robin.

Here’s where my personal interpretation comes in. I choose to believe that Kermit is a a neighbor and friend to Grover’s mom, making him a trusted adult figure that she can rely on to take care of her son. More importantly, this opens up the possibility for Robin and Grover to be family friends. Kermit often finds himself taking care of his nephew as well, so although we never see Robin on the street itself (although he actually makes a rare appearance in the Sesame Street Dictionary) I think it’s only natural that the two would meet eventually. It just makes sense to let your kids who are around the same age hang out with one another, after all. I really think they’d get along, too! Grover certainly has a more forceful personality than the mild-mannered Robin, but I can imagine them playing really intricate games of pretend befitting both of their tendencies to dream bigger than their small size. Grover’s zany antics would entertain Robin’s adventurous spirit while Robin’s more controlled demeanor could help keep Grover out of trouble and reassure him when he became afraid. Even if you think I’m insane for overthinking this to such an extent (which I’ll admit I probably am), you’ve got to admit their friendship would be adorable.

Tango is no longer a Puppy is a healthy 12-year-old doggo. Julia has grown, her artist skills have as well, and she might have grown quite sarcastic too. Telly a bit more anxious than before, but he has improved so much even if he doesn't realize it. Abelardo comes visit even more often, he has become a chill, confident bird. Snuffy has grown, hopefully not much in size, has found himself wanting to meet more people, travel, change styles, and figure out more of the world.

So what if Sesame Street got 11 years of ageing? The kids have evolved their clothing styles. Some of the kids have going for specific schools carriers, Abby is going to Magic school and Prairie Dawn is a journalist in the making. Big bird is still a happy goth bird, you'll see him more in uniform now working at Hooper's store. And don't worry Grover is still Super Grover. Elmo still has his happy energy, he is taking his time to understand what his identity is. Rosita has grown into the fun but responsible monster. Everyone everywhere knows Zoe, she has become a social butterfly that many can rely on.

The adults: Ernie has his same personality, but has slightly slowdown due to his fathers recent passing. You'll see him permanently wears his dads old vest. Bert has changed slightly his style. Also needs leg braces for his affected mobility in the last few years. Cookie Monsters age gracefully, specially Sid. Oscar the grouch has seemly grown gray/white hair, he doesn't mind truly... don't mention it. And of course 11 years are short for Count Von Count.
